- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, and oats. Add apple, nuts, raisins, eggs, milk, and oil. Mix until dry ingredients are moistened.
- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until done. Cool on wire rack.

- Cut pastry sheet in half. Repackage and refrigerate one half for another use. On a lightly floured surface, roll out remaining half into an 8-in. circle. Transfer to a 7-in. pie plate; flute edges., In a large bowl, combine the apples, 1 tablespoon sugar and cinnamon; place in crust. In a small bowl, combine the flour, walnuts, raisins, butter, egg and remaining sugar; spoon over top. Bake at 350° for 50-55 minutes or until topping is golden brown and fruit is tender, covering edges with foil to prevent overbrowning if necessary. Cool on a wire rack.

- In a large deep skillet, saute 2 chopped red onions, 2 minced garlic cloves and 3 chopped celery stalks in 1 stick butter for 1 minute.
- Season with salt and pepper and add 4 diced peeled apples, 1 tablespoon chopped thyme, 1 teaspoon aniseed and 1 cup golden raisins; cook 5 minutes.

- 1. Add cubed apples to medium sauce pan. Stir in water, brown sugar, raisins, jam, cinnamon, maple syrup or jam and salt.

- Place the oven rack in the middle of the oven. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Combine the first 7 ingredients in a bowl. Lightly brush one sheet of phyllo pastry with melted butter. Top with another sheet and brush it lightly with butter. Repeat these steps until all the phyllo is used. Place the layered phyllo on a large, parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Spoon on the apple mixture, shaping it into a long narrow rectangle along the bottom of the pastry. Fold over the sides of the pastry, about 2 inches on either side, and then carefully roll the filling into the pastry. Brush the top of the strudel with a little melted butter. Make small, diagonal cuts, about 2 inches apart, into the top of the pastry to make it easier to cut after baking. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until puffed and golden. Allow it to rest for 15 minutes before slicing with a sharp, serrated knife. Dust portions with icing sugar and, if desired, serve with whipped cream. - Combine 3 apples, 6 ounces of dried raisins, 6 ounces of brown sugar, and let marinate for a few hours.
- Pork chops:
