Cream Cheese Flan image

Rich and Creamy Flan with a beautiful amber sauce makes for a striking presentation. If you like cheese cake you will love this. You can add a bit of Amaretto Liquor if you like, or serve with a little Kahlua Liquor and a dollop of whipped cream. This requires a standing time of 3 hours and 20 minutes before serving.

3/4 cup sugar
1 (14 ounce) can evaporated milk
1 (12 fluid ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
5 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and heat sugar in a small, heavy-duty saucepan over medium-low heat.
  • Stirring constantly, for 3 to 4 minutes or until sugar is dissolved and caramel colored.
  • QUICKLY pour into bottom of a 2-quart casserole dish.
  • Place evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, cream cheese, eggs and vanilla in a blender; cover.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour mixture into the prepared casserole dish (over the dissolved sugar).
  • Place casserole in a 13x9-inch baking dish; fill baking dish with warm water to 1-inch depth.
  • Bake 1 hour and 20 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean.
  • Remove flan from hot water.
  • Cool at room temperature in casserole on wire rack.
  • Refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
  • Run knife around rim; gently shake to loosen.
  • Invert into serving dish.
  • Enjoy.

1 1/2 lbs cream cheese
1 1/2 lbs sour cream
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup sifted flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup almonds, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup cashews, coarsely chopped
1/4 cup golden raisin
1/4 cup flaked coconut
nonstick cooking spray
whipped cream

Steps:

  • Combine first 7 ingredients in a food processor and process until mixture is well blended and still soft.
  • Place remaining ingredients in a large bowl and add the dough. Using a heavy wooden spoon, fold in thoroughly.
  • Spray a 3 quart baking dish and add mixture. Using the back of your wooden spoon, smooth over the top.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes at 325F or until lightly browned.
  • Chill in refrigerator at least 8 hours.
  • To serve, cut into cubes and place in individual dessert glasses and top with whipped cream.

3 tablespoons butter or 3 tablespoons margarine
4 tablespoons cream cheese
2 tablespoons sugar
8 Ritz crackers

Steps:

  • put 3 tbs of butter or margarine into microwaveable cup and microwave for 20 seconds or until melted.
  • put 4 tbs of cream cheese in with butter, mix.
  • when cheese and butter are about half way mixed, add 1 tbs of sugar.
  • when mixed throughly, add the other tablespoon of sugar and blend throughly.
  • chill mixture in freezer for 10 minutes, or chill in refridgerator for an hour (recomended).
  • stir with butter knife, then spread evenly onto crackers.

I haven't made the recipe myself yet, but I had it at Thanskgiving and it was very good. It seems pretty quick and easy to make-a sweet taste to it-to be used with chocolate graham crackers or something similar for dipping. Take the serving size lightly. Figure each person takes about 1tsp of the dip for their cracker-had a bunch left after Thanksgiving with about 30 people in attendance.

1/2 cup mini chocolate chip
1 teaspoon vanilla
chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Add the chocolate chips and mix.
  • Put the mix onto plastic wrap and put into the refrigerator until slightly stiff.
  • Roll into one large ball and coat the outside with the chopped pecans.
