BREADSTICKS - PIZZA HUT STYLE
Under orders from the teenagers in the house, I created recipes for their favourite take out breadsticks and dipping sauce. The dough can easily be made up in the bread machine. The sauce has been posted separately as Dipping Sauce - Pizza Hut Style.

- Place on greased cookie sheets and allow the bread sticks to rise until doubled.
- Meanwhile, stir the topping seasonings together with the parmesan cheese.

LOW CARB CHEESY CAULIFLOWER BREADSTICKS
Move over cauliflower pizza crust, cheesy gluten-free and low-carb breadsticks are here. One small head of cauliflower is magically transformed into satisfying breadsticks.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment and coat with cooking spray.
- Add the cauliflower and garlic to a food processor and pulse until finely ground and the consistency of couscous. Transfer the cauliflower mixture to a large bowl. Add the Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes if using, eggs, 1 cup Cheddar, 1/2 cup Parmesan, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few grinds of pepper and combine until the mixture holds together when squeezed.
- Spread the cauliflower mixture into an 8-by-12-inch rectangle about a 1/4 inch thick on the prepared baking sheet. Use the straight edge of the parchment as your guide to keep the cauliflower mixture edges straight too. Bake until the crust turns golden brown all over, 18 to 20 minutes.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven and lay another piece of parchment on top of the crust. Fit a second rimmed baking sheet on top so the bottom of the baking sheet is touching the parchment. Using oven mitts, hold the 2 baking sheets together and flip them over so the crust is now on the parchment on the upside-down baking sheet. Remove the first parchment from the crust, cut the crust into 1 1/2-inch-thick strips (you should have 8 to 9 strips) and spread them apart a little. Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup Cheddar and 1/2 cup Parmesan. Bake on the upside-down baking sheet until the cheese is melted and turning brown in spots and the visible crust is a deep golden brown, 8 to 10 minutes.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, then transfer the sticks on the parchment to a serving plate and serve with the marinara sauce for dipping.

BREADSTICKS
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Roll the pizza dough out on a lightly floured surface into a long, thin strip. The dough should be about 4-inches wide, 14-inches long, and less than 1/8-inch thick. Brush the surface of the dough with the oil. Sprinkle with the Parmesan, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into 1/4-inch strips. Place on the prepared baking sheets. The strips can be laid straight or curved into designs. You can also twist 2 strips together. Leave 1/2-inch space between breadsticks.
- Alternately, roll out the dough very thinly and pass through the fettucine cutter of a pasta machine.
- Bake until browned and crispy, 10 to 15 minutes.
- In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast and honey in 1/4 cup warm water.
- In a food processor, combine the flour and the salt. Add the oil, the yeast mixture, and the remaining 3/4 cup of water and process until the mixture forms a ball. (The pizza dough can also be made in a mixer fitted with a dough hook. Mix on low speed until the mixture comes cleanly away from the sides of the bowl and starts to climb up the dough hook).
- Turn the dough out onto a clean work surface and knead by hand 2 or 3 minutes longer. The dough should be smooth and firm. Cover the dough with a clean, damp towel and let it rise in a cool spot for about 2 hours. (When ready, the dough will stretch as it is lightly pulled).
- Divide the dough into 4 balls, about 6 ounces each. Work each ball by pulling down the sides and tucking under the bottom of the ball. Repeat 4 or 5 times. Then on a smooth, unfloured surface, roll the ball under the palm of your hand until the top of the dough is smooth and firm, about 1 minute. Cover the dough with a damp towel and let rest 1 hour. At this point, the balls can be wrapped in plastic and refrigerated for up to 2 days.
- In a small saucepan, combine the garlic cloves and olive oil and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat and simmer until the garlic begins to turn brown, 10 to 15 minutes. (Do not let the garlic get too brown or the oil will have a bitter taste.)
- Remove from the heat and cool to room temperature. Add the red pepper flakes and infuse for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to blend. Refrigerate in a covered container for up to 2 weeks.

- For Pizza Hut:.
- mix: 1/3 cup of parmesan cheese 1 tsp ground black pepper 1 tsp italian seasoning 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Then shake these onto your breadsticks to your liking (don't overpower the sticks though) For Cheesesticks Sprinkle shredded mozzarella onto the tops, then pop under the broiler until the cheese bubbles and burns a bit.

Steps:
- Prepare pizza dough through step 3. Punch the risen dough down to release the air bubbles. Divide in half. (Make a pizza with the other half or freeze half of the dough for another time. See dough recipe for freezing instructions.)
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).
- On a lightly floured work surface or on a piece of parchment paper or a silicone baking mat sprinkled with cornmeal (I skipped the optional cornmeal in the video above), roll the dough out into a 9×13 inch rectangle. The dough will want to be round, so do your best to shape it into a thin rectangle around this size- doesn't have to be perfect.
- Combine the butter, garlic, and Italian seasoning together in a small bowl. Brush over shaped dough. Cover evenly with shredded cheese.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. If desired, turn the oven to broil for the last minute to really brown the top.
- Slice into breadsticks and serve plain or with marinara sauce. Cover leftover breadsticks tightly and store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Reheat as you prefer. Baked breadsticks can be frozen up to 3 months.

HOW TO REHEAT PIZZA HUT BREADSTICKS? (9 BEST METHODS)
From thefoodchronicles.com
- Oven Operation: If baking, line a baking pan with aluminum foil. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit… Arrange the Pizza Hut breadsticks on the aluminum foil-lined baking sheet on the middle rack of the preheated oven.
- Microwave Operation: Microwave is another option for heating your Pizza Hut breadsticks (not the best choice though). This recipe is most effective when used with one or two breadsticks at a time.
- How to Use an Iron Skillet: Add 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a nonstick pan over medium heat when using this approach… Place the breadsticks one at a time onto the skillet surface, taking care not to crowd them.
- Conveyor Belt Oven Operation: This is optimal for a single breadstick since a 12-inch pizza needs around ten minutes of cooking time in this machine.
- How to Use a Refrigerator: This approach is ideal for cooking a large quantity of breadsticks at the same time… Please store them in an oven-safe container, not stacked on top of one another.
- How to Use a Waffle Iron: If you own one of these kitchen devices, arrange the breadstick(s) on the waffle iron’s surface, taking care not to crowd it.
- Cooking with a Skillet: If you have an iron skillet at home, preheat it to medium heat and add enough oil to coat the bottom evenly with oil. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side of the breadstick(s), or until heated and slightly crispy.
- How to Use a Toaster Oven: When utilizing this approach, be careful to use an oven-safe tray or pan. Preheat toaster oven to 300°F and bake breadsticks for 4 minutes, or until warm and crispy.
- How to Use a Panini Maker: If you own one of these devices, warm it to 350°F. Arrange the breadsticks in the panini maker’s bottom half, taking care not to overcrowd it.
