2 cups butter, softened
1-1/2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
4 large eggs, room temperature
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon water
4-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
1-1/2 teaspoons salt
3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy, 5-7 minutes. Beat in eggs, vanilla and water. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. , Press into two greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Bake until golden brown, 18-20 minutes. Cool in pans on wire racks. Cut into bars.

1 cup unsalted butter
1 ¼ cups dark brown sugar
¼ cup white sugar
1 egg
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
2 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips, divided

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Beat butter in a large bowl using an electric mixer until smooth. Add brown sugar and white sugar; mix until well blended. Add egg and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
  • Toss 2 cups plus 2 tablespoon flour, baking soda, and salt together using a fork in a small bowl. Add to the butter mixture in batches, mixing well after each addition. Fold in 1 3/4 cups chocolate chips. Spread batter into an ungreased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, about 25 minutes. Spread remaining 3/4 cup chocolate chips on top. Return to the oven until chocolate chips are shiny, about 1 minute more. Remove from oven and spread melted chocolate over the top.

1 cup butter, softened
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 pinch salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
¾ cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • In a large bowl, beat together the butter, vanilla and sugar until light and fluffy. Sift together the salt and flour and mix into the butter mixture. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts. Mix until well blended. Press batter into a 15x10 inch jelly roll pan.
  • Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cut into bars and let cool in pan on wire rack.

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour (see Cook¿s Note)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon fine salt
One 12-ounce bag (a scant 2 cups) semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Position the rack in the middle of the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F.
  • Put the butter in a microwave-safe bowl, cover and microwave on medium power until melted. Alternatively melt the butter in a small saucepan. Brush some butter on the inside of a 9-by-13-inch pan and cool the remaining butter slightly. Whisk the remaining cooled butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until smooth.
  • Whisk the flour, baking soda and salt in another bowl. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients with a spoon or spatula, taking care not to over mix. The batter should be thick and all of the flour mixture should be fully incorporated. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake until the edges are browned and the center is completely set, about 30 minutes. Cool completely, at least one hour, cut into 24 pieces and serve.

1 teaspoon maple extract or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

I have heard this recipe called "Mrs. Field's Chocolate Chip Cookies" or "Neiman Marcus Cookies". This takes a little work but they are the best chocolate chip cookies I've had. This recipe makes a lot of cookies.

2 c butter, softened
2 c sugar
2 c brown sugar, packed
4 large eggs
2 Tbsp vanilla
4 c all purpose flour
5 c oat flour, make by processing oatmeal in a blender until fine and then measuring
1 Tbsp salt
2 Tbsp baking powder
2 Tbsp baking soda
3 c chopped pecans
24 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
8 oz chocolate bar, grated

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cream together butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a time mixing well in between. Add vanilla.
  • 2. Mix together dry ingredients and combine with sugar mixture. Stir in pecans, chocolate chips and grated chocolate bar.
  • 3. Shape dough into golf-ball sized balls, Place 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet, flattening slightly. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Let cool slightly and put on wire rack to cool.
