Making An Ice Ring Food

FRUIT-FILLED ICE RING

Steps:

• 1. Slice 2 green pears into 1/2" wedges and lay skin side down in a 12-cup Bundt or tube pan. Line side of pan with overlapping apple rings from 2 cored red apples. Add water to cover pears by about 1/2" (about 2 cups) and cover about 1/2" up sides of apples. Freeze until set, about 2 hours.
• 2. Fill mold with cold water to completely submerge fruit. Return to freezer and freeze until solid, 4 hours or overnight.
• 3. To serve, dip the bottom of the mold into a bowl of hot water to loosen. Invert a plate over mold; turn out ice ring and transfer to your punch bowl. Cheers!

HOW TO MAKE AN ICE RING

Steps:

• Layer one of the fruits and some of the punch (1" at a time) in a ring mold.
• Freeze each layer before adding the next layer.
• Layer with as many fruits as you want in your mold.
• When the ring mold is frozen solid, and ready to put in the punch bowl, sit mold in hot water for 1 minute. This will help to make it come out of the mold easily.

MAKING AN ICE RING

Steps:

• Here's an easy way to make an ice ring for chilling a bowl of punch, using a ring mold or bundt cake pan. Make sure the mold you choose is smaller than your punch bowl. Arrange 1/4-inch slices of lemons, limes and oranges or other sliced fruit or berries in ring mold. Slowly add just enough water or fruit juice to partially cover fruit (too much water will make the fruit float) freeze. When frozen, add enough water or juice to fill mold three-fourths full freeze overnight to make sure ice ring is solid. When you're ready to serve the punch, run hot water over bottom of the mold to loosen the ice ring. Remove the ice ring from the mold, and float it, fruit side up, in the punch. PARTY PUNCH ICE RING

Steps:

• Decoration suggestions:.
• Apricot halves.
• mint leaves.
• orange peel.
• green grapes.
• strawberries.
• Mix ginger ale with lemon juice.
• Pour 2 1/2 cups of the mixture into a 1 quart ring.
• Freeze.
• Arrange desired decorations on top of the ice.
• Slowly, pour remaining juice mixture over the top so that you don't disturb your decorations.
• Freeze -- To unmold, run cold water over the bottom; it will then slip out.
• Float in the top of your punch bowl for a very pretty presentation.
