Steps:

• Using an electric mixer (I used my Kitchen-Aid), whip the egg white and the powdered sugar together for about 4- 5 minutes. Separate your combined amount into 4 equal parts. Add the Kool-Aid powder and stir it up with a spoon. Place your colored mixtures into plastic baggies. Cut a small piece off the tip of the baggies and make small dots on the wax side of your paper strips.

Steps:

• Butter two large cookie sheets, then set them aside.
• In a 2 qt.
• saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch.
• Add corn syrup, water, butter, and salt.
• Mix well before heating.
• Bring mixture to boil on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until it reaches 250 degrees Fahrenheit on candy thermometer (hard ball stage).
• Remove from heat, and immediately stir in the Kool-Aid powder.
• Quickly pour onto prepared cookie sheets.
• Let stand a few minutes, until cool enough to handle with your hands.
• Grab a few helpers to pull the taffy with buttered hands until the taffy lightens its color and becomes firmer.
• Roll taffy into bite-sized pieces.
• Wrap individually in squares of wax paper.

Steps:

• In a LARGE juice pitcher (1 gallon/4 litres), stir together the 3 packages of koolaid and the sugar.
• Add about 1/3 of the water and stir well, making sure Kool-Aid and sugar dissolves.
• Slowly stir in remaining water; chill.

• Fill a clean, empty mayonnaise jar with 1/4 cup boiling hot water. Slowly add 2 cups sugar and 1 package of Kool-Aid. Stir well.
• Attach a nail to one end of a string and pencil to the other end of the string.
• Place the pencil on the mouth of the jar so the nail hangs down into the thick sugar without touching the bottom of the jar.
• Place the jar in a warm place and let it stand for a few days. The water evaporates and colorful rocky sugar crystals form on the string.
