This is a very flavorful 'hot' sauce for your Mexican meal! Add jalapeno seeds for a bigger kick. Use as a hot sauce for tacos, enchiladas, chili rellenos, or tamales.

2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped
2 green onions, chopped
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • Blend sour cream, jalapeno peppers, green onions, cilantro, garlic powder, and black pepper together in a blender until smooth.

This hot sauce is great to can and give as gifts. It keeps a very long time in the fridge (6 months) or can also be frozen. This hot sauce is a great addition to many recipies since it's not sweet it's very versatile.

1 teaspoon vegetable oil
20 fresh jalapeno peppers, sliced and seeded
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 cup minced onion
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups water
1 cup distilled white vinegar

Steps:

  • In a med sauce pan over hight heat, combine oil, peppers, garlic, onion and salt. Saute for aprox. 4 minutes. Add the water and cook for 20 minutes, stirring often. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Transfer mixture to a food processor or use a hand blender to puree until smooth, add vinegar and continue to process until blended.
