Steps:
- Shred the cabbage and julienne the carrot (cut into thin slivers). Combine in a bowl with the mayonnaise, ginger and garlic and mix well.
- Heat the butter in a medium skillet over a medium flame. Add the raisins and cook until soft and golden brown, about 2 minutes. Mix the warm raisins into the slaw and add the vinegar and salt, sugar and pepper to taste. Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

- Combine the cabbage and carrot in a large bowl. In another bowl, combine all the remaining ingredients except the parsley, then toss well with the cabbage mixture. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours. Fold in the parsley just before serving.
ASIAN-FLAVORED COLESLAW WITH RICE VINEGAR AND GINGER
Steps:
- Stir sesame seeds in small dry skillet over medium heat until light golden, about 3 minutes. Set aside.
- Combine cabbage and green onions in large bowl. Add vinegar, peanut oil, ginger, sesame oil, and sugar and toss to blend. Season to taste with salt and pepper. (Can be prepared 2 hours ahead. Cover and refrigerate. Toss before continuing.) Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
PEACH, GINGER & PEANUT BUTTER SLAW

- In a small bowl, whisk together the cashew butter, miso paste, lime juice, sesame oil, and ginger. Whisk in enough water to create a dressing consistency.
- In a dry cast-iron skillet over medium heat, char the peppers whole, rotating until the edges have a little char, about 2 minutes per side. Remove. When cool to the touch, slice in half lengthwise, remove the stem, ribbing, and seeds and slice horizontally into thin strips.
- In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, peppers, scallions, cilantro, basil, chiles, and 3/4 of the dressing. Toss until combined. Add the remaining dressing, if desired, and season to taste with a few pinches of sea sa.t. Serve topped with toasted nuts, seeds, and sliced peaches.
