CHERRY BREAD

Steps:

• Preheat an oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
• Whisk together the eggs, shortening, milk, cherry juice, and vanilla extract in a bowl until evenly blended; set aside. Stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a separate large bowl; make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Pour the cherry juice mixture into the well and stir just until combined. Fold in the cherries. Pour the batter into a loaf pan.
• Bake in the preheated oven until golden and the top springs back when lightly pressed, about 1 hour. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before cutting to serve.

CHERRY YOGURT BREAD (LARGE LOAF)

Steps:

• Place all ingredients in the order given into your bread machine.
• Set for regular or rapid bake cycle.

BREAD MACHINE DRIED CHERRY BRIOCHE

Steps:

• Measure carefully, placing all ingredients except cherries and beaten egg in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
• Select Dough/Manual cycle. Do not use Delay cycle. Add cherries at the beep signal or 5 to 10 minutes before the last kneading cycle ends.
• Remove dough from pan, using lightly floured hands. Cover and let rest 10 minutes on lightly floured surface.
• Grease 12 large muffin cups, 3x1 1/2 inches. Divide dough into 16 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball, using floured hands. Cut 4 balls into 3 pieces each; roll into small balls. Place 12 large balls in muffin cups. Make indentation in center of each large ball with thumb. Place 1 small ball in each indentation. Cover and refrigerate 2 hours.
• Remove rolls from refrigerator. Let rise covered in warm place 40 to 45 minutes or until almost double.
• Heat oven to 350°F. Brush beaten egg over rolls. Bake 22 to 26 minutes or until golden brown. Immediately remove from pan. Serve warm, or cool on wire rack.

CHERRY YOGURT BREAD (BREAD MACHINE)

Steps:

• Put the ingredients in the bread machine on regular or fast loaf cycle.
• Slice and enjoy (be careful about slicing it while it is still warm).

WHOLE WHEAT YOGURT BREAD

Steps:

• Put all ingredients in a bread machine and set on the dough setting.
• After a few minutes, check the dough. Is it clinging together and starting to form a ball? If not, add 1 Tablespoon of water and let go for a minute longer and check it again. Repeat as necessary.
• When the dough is ready, preheat the oven to 170 F, then turn it off. Put the bread in a bread pan, shaping the top of the loaf to be nicely rounded. Spray the top with cooking spray.
• Set the bread pan in the oven, cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise for 40 minutes or until the dough is nice and puffy. Gently pull the towel off of the bread (leaving the loaf in place in the oven) and close the oven. Set the oven to 350 F and bake for 45 minutes or so until the bread is nicely golden brown on top.
