Bacon-wrapped scallops lightly marinated in a teriyaki, fresh grated ginger, and brown sugar sauce. These are always a huge hit at every party I go to. They disappear fast and then I'm always asked for the recipe. I often hear comments such as, What an awesome combination!!! and These are so additive!!

½ cup teriyaki sauce
⅓ cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons minced fresh ginger root
18 slices bacon, halved crosswise
12 large sea scallops, cut into thirds
36 toothpicks

Steps:

  • Set oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler. Line 2 baking sheets with aluminum foil.
  • Whisk teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and ginger in a bowl.
  • Wrap each piece of scallop with a strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Dip each bacon wrapped scallop in the teriyaki sauce mixture and arrange on one of the prepared baking sheets.
  • Broil in preheated oven until lightly charred, about 6 minutes. Flip scallops and transfer to the clean baking sheet and return scallops to the oven. Continue to broil until bacon is charred on the second side, about 6 minutes more.

12 pieces bacon

Steps:

  • Wrap the bacon around a scallop nicely and secure tightly with a metal skewer. You may thread two of them onto a skewer. Season both the surfaces of the scallop with some salt and cayenne pepper.
  • Heat up the grill and place the bacon-wrapped scallops on the grill. Keep turning the scallops until the bacon becomes charred, brown and slightly crispy. Turn the skewers around so the bacon is grilled with direct heat. Grill until the bacon becomes nicely charred all around. Serve immediately.

3/4-1 lb thinly sliced bacon
20 -22 six-inch bamboo skewers, soaked in water for one hour
1 tablespoon mustard powder
2 tablespoons hot water
1/2 cup plum sauce or 1/2 cup Chinese duck sauce
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

Steps:

  • LIGHTLY RINSE THE SCALLOPS and drain thoroughly. Slice any very thick ones in half horizontally.
  • Heat a broiler or prepare a medium hot fire for grilling.
  • Combine the Plum Sauce ingredients and blend well. Cut the strips of bacon in half. Place the scallops in a bowl, ad half the sauce, and toss lightly to coat. Wrap a piece of bacon around each scallop and thread onto the bamboo skewers. If broiling the scallops, cover a cookie sheet with aluminum foil and arrange the skewered scallops on top. Place the scallops about 3 inches from the heat source and broil or grill, basting with the remaining sauce, for about 8 to 9 minutes on each side, or until the bacon is cooked. Serve hot.

3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon mirin (Chinese rice wine)
1/4 teaspoon chili-garlic sauce (Hot Asian)
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon garlic, finely chopped
1 pinch sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
12 large sea scallops, halved
12 slices bacon (thin slice)
24 wooden toothpicks, soaked in water for 1 hour

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine the soy sauce, Mirin, chili sauce, ginger, garlic, sugar and oil. Add scallops and toss well. Set aside to marinate for 1/2 hour under refrigeration.
  • Cook the bacon until lightly browned but only about half cooked. It must still be flexible enough to wrap around the scallops. Cut each piece in half.
  • Preheat your grill to a medium heat.
  • Remove the scallops from the marinade and pat dry. Wrap each scallop in a piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.
  • Place the wrapped scallops on the grill and cook for about 6 minutes until bacon is crispy and the scallops are firm. Watch for flare ups and turn them often. Serve immediately.

1/2 pound thin-sliced bacon
Extra-virgin olive oil
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 cup good quality mayonnaise
1/4 cup hot chili paste (recommended: Sriracha Hot Chili Paste)
1 lime, juiced
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro, plus more for garnish
2 heads Bibb lettuce, washed
3 avocados, sliced

Steps:

  • Heat the broiler. Wrap each scallop in a piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick. Place the bacon wrapped scallops onto a baking sheet, drizzle them with olive oil, and season them with salt and pepper. Cook them under the broiler for about 10 to 15 minutes until the bacon is cooked through, turning once.
  • Make the spicy mayo by combining the mayonnaise, chili paste, lime juice, and chopped cilantro. Stir well and refrigerate until ready to use.

  • Place bacon in an ungreased 15x10x1-in. baking pan. Bake at 375° for 7-10 minutes or until partially cooked but not crisp. 1 tsp. olive oil
5 cloves garlic, minced, divided
18 large sea scallops (1-1/2 lb.), cleaned
9 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cut in half
2 large onions, thinly sliced
1 tub (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread
1 tsp. paprika
1 Tbsp. hot pepper sauce
2 Tbsp. milk

Steps:

  • Mix lime juice, dill weed, pepper, oil and 1 Tbsp. garlic until blended. Pour over scallops in shallow glass dish; stir gently to evenly coat scallops with lime juice mixture. Refrigerate 30 min.
  • Heat grill to medium heat. Wrap 1 bacon piece around each scallop; secure with wooden toothpick.
  • Cook onions in large skillet on medium heat 20 min. or until caramelized. Meanwhile grill scallops 15 min. or until scallops are opaque and bacon is crisp, turning frequently. Remove and discard toothpicks.
  • Cook and stir cream cheese spread, remaining garlic, paprika, milk and hot pepper sauce in saucepan on medium heat 3 to 5 min. or until heated through.
  • Spoon onions onto platter; top with scallops and cream cheese sauce.

1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 lb large scallop

Steps:

  • Partially Cook Bacon for 3-5 minutes in a pan, on medium heat, putting a plate or weight on the bacon to flatten it as it cooks. Do not overcook, as it will complete the cooking process on the BBQ. Remove from pan and place the partially cooked bacon slices on a paper towel and pat with papertowels to remove any excess grease, then set aside.
  • Lightly Salt the Scallops, and then wrap them with the partially cooked bacon and secure them with toothpicks.
  • Mix Maple Syrup and Dijon Mustard together, and coat the bacon wrapped scallops with the mixture, and refrigerate for (1) hour if you have the extra time, if not you can grill them right away.
  • Lightly Oil the BBQ grill, and cook until lightly browned. Serve immediately.
