Air Fryer Lamb Chops image

Air fryer lamb chops are an easy but fancy gourmet meal. Made with rosemary, thyme, garlic, and other seasonings, every bite is delicious.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 rack of lamb, or 8 pre-cut chops
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp fresh rosemary (about 3 sprigs)
1 tsp fresh thyme (about 1-2 sprigs)
1 tsp fresh minced garlic (2 cloves)
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Steps:

  • If starting with a rack of lamb, cut with the grain to cut into chops.
  • In a medium bowl, combine oil, rosemary, thyme, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir together.
  • Working in batches, add in the lamb chops and toss to coat. Repeat process until all chops are well coated with oil and seasonings.
  • Place lamb chops in the air fryer basket, without overlapping or stacking. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Air fry at 380 degrees F for 10-12 minutes.
  • Let lamb chops rest for 3-5 minutes after cooking.

Lamb loin chops are one of my favorite meals. I recently scored a great bargain at the market, and decided to see if I could make them in my air fryer. I got some ideas from recipes for baked chops, and then made use of what was looking good in my herb garden.

1 lamb loin chop (4-5 ounces)
1 teaspoon olive oil
2 tablespoons chopped mixed fresh herbs
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
1 chopped garlic clove

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl or plastic bag. If you are making more than one, don't increase the oil and salt proportionately. For three chops, for example, I use 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tbl oil. For herbs, I use a combination of what looks good, for example, rosemary, lemon thyme, English thyme, parsley, oregano, marjoram, chives - whatever looks good.
  • Let stand for 30 minutes at room temperature. You can also refrigerate overnight. Remove and let excess drip off.
  • Preheat air fryer to 360 deg F. Place chop in basket and cook 8 minutes. Turn over and cook another 6 minutes or whatever time you need to get to your desired doneness. This amount of time yields medium done chops in my AF, internal temperature of 155 deg F. Use a thermometer to check for doneness. Timing will depend on how well done you want your meat, how full your basket is, and the peculiarities of air flow in your fryer.

  • Add parsley, oregano, black pepper, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and salt. Mix till well combined.You can put it in the fridge to marinate for 30-60 minutes but if you don't have time for that, move to the next step.
  • Preheat Air fryer at a temperature of 400F/200C for 5 minutes.Arrange the lamb in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Insert the basket in the air fryer and air fry lamb chops for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes flip chops to the other side and cook for another 5 minutes (This time is for well done lamb as I like it. See below for rare and medium timing).
