WASABI-JALAPENO SAUCE

Wasabi-Jalapeno Sauce image

My husband and I are big fans of "sauce". We spend time together in the kitchen throwing together a variety of ingredients. For us 'the hotter, the better'! We came up with this sauce to use with fish/crab cakes but have found an endless list of other foods to use it with. This is zippy but not too hot.

WASABI CREAM CHEESE APPETIZER

Wasabi Cream Cheese Appetizer image

slivered fresh ginger (to garnish) (optional)
rice crackers, for serving

HOW HOT IS WASABI? IS IT SPICY OR NOT? | MISS BUTTERCUP
The answer might surprise you. Wasabi is not “hot” or “spicy” when compared to peppers like jalapeno, chili or habanero peppers, even though it may feel like it is. The reason for this comes down to how our we sense the “heat” in our mouths or our nose which alerts our brain that something painful is happening.
