There's nothing like a great tartar sauce to go with seafood! This recipe is so good, you might want to replace spreading mayonnaise on any sandwich, be it seafood, or meat! Hope you enjoy! :)

1 small onion
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1/3 cup sweet pickle relish

Steps:

  • Place onion, cream of tartar, dry mustard and lemon juice in food processor. Process until liquified.
  • Combine onion mixture with mayonnaise and pickle relish.
  • Chill for 2 hours before serving with you favorite seafood.

1/2 cup good mayonnaise
2 tablespoons small-diced pickles or cornichons
1 tablespoon Champagne or white wine vinegar
1 tablespoon capers
1 teaspoon coarse-grained mustard
Pinch kosher salt
Pinch freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Place all the ingredients in a food processor or mini chopper fitted with a steel blade and pulse several times until the pickles are finely chopped and all the ingredients are well mixed but not pureed.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 egg yolk
1/2 cup olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoons hot English mustard
1 teaspoon white vinegar
pepper or spices
1 tablespoon capers
1/4 cup parsley

Steps:

  • Put the egg yolk into a small bowl and whisk with a fork.
  • Dribble a little bit of Olive oil into the bowl with the yolk and whisk while doing so.
  • Repeat this over and over again until the mixture is thick, white and creamy. (you may need a little bit more/ less Olive oil.
  • When the yolk mixture is nice and creamy, add the mustard and mix again.
  • add the vinegar and parsley and mix again.
  • Chop the Cappers abit, or if you like the cappers whole put them in whole. (add as much or as little cappers as you like, but I usually add about 1 tablespoon), add abit of the capper juice as well to give the Sauce extra flavour (about 1 Teaspoon).
  • Add your spices, Salt and pepper and serve.
  • Note- This TarTar sauce keeps in the fridge for about 2 Days.

1/4 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
1/2-1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon dill relish
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or just a pinch)

  • Add all ingredients and allow to blend in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.

Although I like a little more spice here or there, like garlic, this is the actual ingredients they listed--make as written, taste and adjust to your tastes!

1 egg
1/2 garlic clove
1/2 tablespoon sugar
3/4 teaspoon white vinegar
1/8 cup Worcestershire sauce
3/4 lemon, juice of
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
1/4 teaspoon white pepper
1 1/2 cups oil
1 dill pickle, chopped fine (I just use dill relish! about 2 Tbsp)

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in a food processor except for the OIL and PICKLE.
  • Mixture will be dark brown.
  • Slowly drizzle in the oil; start with a couple drops and then use a fine stream while processing.
  • Stop when thickened to your liking.
  • Taste and adjust flavors if needed.
  • Once it is thick enough, toss in the pickles and give it one final swirl.
  • If sauce is too thick, add vinegar a few drops at a time.
  • If sauce is too thin, add oil few drops at a time.
