These Crockpot Spicy Chicken Drumsticks are the perfect quick and easy weeknight dinner idea. Just toss everything in your slow cooker kind of recipe.

10 medium chicken drumsticks
1/2 cup hot sauce ((see Notes))
1/4 cup ghee, (cubed)
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
salt and pepper (to taste)

Steps:

  • Place all of the ingredients in your slow cooker, and cook for 2.5 hours on high.
  • Near the end of the 2.5 hours, preheat the oven to 400˚F. Line a baking sheet with aluminium foil.
  • Once the slow cooker is done, place the drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet, and cook in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.

Chicken legs cooked buffalo-wing style. Hot sauce, butter, and spices in the slow cooker with the drumsticks do the trick. Serve with blue cheese and celery.

12 chicken drumsticks
1 bottle (5 ounce size) hot red pepper sauce
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
1 1/2 cup blue cheese salad dressing

Steps:

  • Place the chicken legs in the crock pot. In a bowl or large measuring cup, combine the hot sauce, melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well then pour evenly over the chicken legs. Cover the crock pot and cook on low heat for 3-5 hours or until the chicken is cooked through. Remove the chicken from the crock pot and place on a serving dish. Cover with foil. Turn the crock pot to high and let the sauce cook for 10 minutes or until thickened. Alternately, you can transfer the sauce to a saucepan and simmer it over medium heat until thickened. Coat the chicken legs in the thickened sauce and return to the serving plate. Serve hot with blue cheese or ranch dressing on the side.

knob of butter
½ tbsp rapeseed or olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 ½ tbsp flour
650g boneless, skinless chicken thigh fillets
3 garlic cloves, crushed
400g baby new potatoes, halved
2 sticks celery, diced
2 carrots, diced
250g mushrooms, quartered
15g dried porcini mushroom, soaked in 50ml boiling water
500ml stock made with 2 very low salt chicken stock cubes (we used Kallo)
2 tsp Dijon mustard, plus extra to serve
2 bay leaves

Steps:

  • Heat a knob of butter and ½ tbsp rapeseed or olive oil in a large frying pan, cook 1 finely chopped large onion for 8-10 mins until softened and starting to caramelise.
  • Meanwhile, put 1 ½ tbsp flour and a little salt and pepper in a bowl and toss 650g boneless, skinless chicken thigh fillets in it.
  • Add 3 crushed garlic cloves and the chicken to the pan and cook for 4-5 mins more until the chicken is starting to brown.
  • Transfer to your slow cooker, along with 400g halved baby new potatoes, 2 diced celery sticks, 2 diced carrots, 250g quartered mushrooms, 15g dried and soaked porcini mushrooms with the 50ml soaking liquid, 500ml chicken stock, 2 tsp Dijon mustard and 2 bay leaves.
  • Give it a good stir. Cook on Low for 7 hours or High for 4 hours.
  • Remove the bay leaves and serve with a little Dijon mustard on the side.

3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
½ (8 ounce) jar medium salsa
¼ cup tomato sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 small red onion, chopped
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 pinch salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Arrange the chicken breasts in the bottom of a slow cooker, and pour in the salsa and tomato sauce. Add the garlic and onion, and sprinkle in the cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Set the cooker on Low, and cook until the chicken is very tender, 4 to 5 hours. Shred the chicken with two forks for serving.
