Steps:
- Combine first 3 ingredients in medium saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Simmer until liquid is reduced to generous 1 cup, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in orange flower water. Cover; chill until cold. Discard anise. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead.)
- Using small knife, cut off peel and white pith from oranges. Slice oranges crosswise into 1/3-inch-thick rounds. Set in bowls. Spoon syrup over. Top with mint.

Steps:
- Peel the oranges and remove the pith.
- Slice the oranges into rings, about 1/4 inch thick. If desired, cover and chill the oranges.
- Arrange the orange slices on individual plates or a serving platter - make a pattern if you like - and drizzle with the orange flower water.
- Generously sprinkle the slices with sugar and cinnamon and serve immediately.

ORANGES IN ORANGE FLOWER WATER
Posted for the Zaar World Tour 2006-Morocco. From the "International Vegetarian" cookbook. I have not tried this recipe yet, but it sounds like a nice, light dessert. This dish can be served as either a dessert or a first-course salad. Orange flower water can be purchased at gourmet grocery stores or liquor stores. Note: prep time includes refrigeration time.

Steps:
- Peel oranges, removing white membrane completely with a knife; cut between membranes and lift out orange segments. Arrange each cut-up orange on a dessert plate so that segments resemble petals of a flower.
- Sprinkle each serving with 1/4 teaspoon of the orange water, then cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- To serve, uncover, sprinkle each serving with 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon and 1 teaspoon powdered sugar. Spoon 1/4 cup yogurt into the center.

This dessert is very refreshing and a perfect end to any meal. I came across this dessert in Thailand about 8 years ago, since then I've been having trouble finding restaurants that serve this. Luckily it is easy to make!

Steps:
- Peel and segment all the oranges.
- Place oranges in a bowl, cover, and refrigerate.
- Mix water and sugar in a saucepan and bring to a boil on medium-high heat.
- Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Boil gently for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in rose water and remove from heat.
- Cool and refrigerate for 30 minutes or more.
- To serve place oranges in individual serving bowls, pour rose water syrup on top and add some crushed ice.

- How to Remove Seeds from a Pomegranate:.
- Fill a large bowl with water. Hold the pomegranate in the water and slice the crown off. Lightly score the fruit into quarters, from crown to stem end. Keeping the fruit under water carefully break it apart. Then gently separate the arils (seeds) from the outer skin and white pith.
- The seeds will drop to the bottom of the bowl and the pith will float to the surface. Discard the pith then pour the seeds into a colander. Rinse and pat dry. The seeds can be frozen in an airtight container or sealable bag for up to 3 months.
- Divide the seeds among four glass serving bowls. Sprinkle the fruit in each bowl with 1 tsp of orange flower water & 1 1/2 tsp of sugar. Let stand for 1 hour before serving.
