LIGHTER CRAB DIP
I make a crab dip based on one by Pet-R-Us I took it along to a 'zaar (we were members of Recipezaar when we met many years ago) BBQ yesterday where I was encouraged by the others to post my version. We catch, pick and freeze our own crab meat, so I just grab a packet or two out-I think I usually aim to use around a cup, but it's OK if it's a bit more. I actually squeeze each artichoke as dry as I can, or the liquid spoils the dish. I like to serve this on crusty fresh sour dough baguette slices, but you can use chips, crackers or vegetable crudites if you prefer!

HOT CRAB DIP
Reduced fat cream cheese and sour cream are the healthy key to this creamy dip. A bit of crab boil spice, hot sauce, lemon and herbs keep it fresh tasting.

LOW FAT HOT CRAB DIP
A lower fat alternative for those of us who love our hot dip but not the inches it tends to add to the waistline. I usually add a bit more hot sauce than is called for in this recipe, but to each her own.

LIGHTER HOT CRAB AND ARTICHOKE DIP
In an effort to cut the calorioes and fat from one of our favorite dips, this is what I came up.The result is a very flavorful dip that doesn't suffer from the low fat version of ingredients! Our guests loved this. Serve with buttery crackers, lightly toasted baguette slices or as a dip for crudites.
