Honey Nut-Marshmallow Bars image

Marshmallows, butter and organic honey nut cereal make an easy microwave treat. No baking is needed.

1 bag (10.5 oz) miniature marshmallows
3 tablespoons butter
8 cups Cascadian Farm® organic honey nut O's cereal

Steps:

  • Butter bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan.
  • In large microwavable bowl, microwave marshmallows and butter uncovered on High about 2 minutes, stirring after every minute, until smooth.
  • Immediately stir in cereal until evenly coated. Press in pan. Cool about 30 minutes or until firm. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store loosely covered.

5 cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal

Steps:

  • In large bowl, microwave butter and marshmallows uncovered until smooth (about 2 minutes). Stir every minute.
  • Immediately stir in cereal until evenly coated. Press mixture firmly into sprayed pan.
  • Cut into 24 bars.

1 (18 ounce) box chocolate cake mix or 1 (18 ounce) box yellow cake mix
2 cups Cheerios toasted oat cereal
2 cups miniature marshmallows
1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • Preheat Oven to 350.
  • Place the stick of butter on a jelly roll pan and put in the oven until it melts.
  • Sprinkle cake mix powder into butter on the jelly roll pan. (do not mix).
  • Layer Cheerios, marshmallow and chocolate chips on to cake mix.
  • Drizzle all over with sweetened condensed milk (this is the glue).
  • Bake for 20 minutes.

1 1/4 cups honey
1 cup peanut butter
4 cups Grape-nuts cereal (or use a generic barley nugget cereal)
1 cup quick oatmeal
1 cup dried cranberries

Steps:

  • Line a 9"x13" baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large saucepan, combine honey and peanut butter over medium high heat.
  • Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and add the remaining ingredients, mixing well and spread into prepared pan.
  • Use a piece of parchment paper to press into pan and flatten out.
  • Put in refrigerator for about 30 minutes until cool and cut into bars.

  • Place butter in a BIG microwaveable safe bowl.
  • Add marshmallows and peanut butter.
  • Heat on high power for 2 minutes.
  • Stir until marshmallows are melted and smooth.
  • Pour in cereal.
  • Stir until well mixed.
  • Press mixture into prepared pan.
  • Allow to cool.
  • Cut into 12 big bars.
  • These won't last long, I promise!

  • In a microwave safe bowl add the honey, coconut oil and brown sugar. Microwave the mixture on 30 seconds interval, stirring until melted and smooth. This took me about 1 minute. Once the honey mixture is melted and easily pourable stir in the baking soda, salt and vanilla. Pour the honey mixture over the cheerios and toss well. Pour the cheerios out into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-35 minutes or until the top of the bars are golden brown. This mixture may bubble up a bit, but this is fine.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely, about 2-4 hours before cutting into bars. Once cool cut in bars and wrap in plastic wrap for easy snacking. If bars end up crumbling use as you would cereal or granola.
