HEARTY COUNTRY STYLE BEEF RIBS
I found the basic recipe in the 2009 edition of Taste of Home Quick Cooking Cookbook. The original recipe was sent to them by Helena Ivy of St.Louis, Missouri. Her recipe used short ribs and mushrooms, and mine uses carrots and country style boneless beef ribs.I also used golden mushroom soup instead of cream of mushroom.The amount of pepper used is strictly up to you. As with most crockpots cooking times will vary, so adjust accordingly.I served this over mashed potatoes, but I'm sure either rice or noodles would also be good.Submitted to " ZAAR " on January 15th, 2010

Steps:
- Place onions and carrots on bottom of crockpot.
- Top vegetables with ribs, and sprinkle pepper evenly over the ribs.
- In a medium bowl combine soup,1 /2 cup water, brown gravy mix,garlic, and thyme;pour over ribs.
- Cover and cook on low for 7 hours. ( adjust cooking time to your own crockpot ).
- Remove meat to platter and keep warm.
- Skim fat from cooking juices; transfer juices to a small pan, and bring to a boil.
- Combine cornstarch and 2 Tablespoons water until smooth.
- Gradually stir into meat juices, and bring to a boil.
- Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
- Serve with meat and mashed potatoes.

- Place onion in a 5-qt. slow cooker; top with ribs. Combine the mushrooms, soup, 1/2 cup water, gravy mix, garlic and thyme; pour over ribs. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 6-1/2 hours or until meat is tender. , Remove meat to serving platter; keep warm. Skim fat from cooking juices; transfer to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. , Combine cornstarch and cold water until smooth. Gradually stir into pan. Bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve with meat and mashed potatoes.

BBQ COUNTRY STYLE RIBS
Country style beef ribs are a tender, boneless surprise that is packed with flavor and perfect for your next barbeque or any other night of the week you want succulent ribs dripping with your favorite tangy barbeque sauce.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
- Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Place ribs on lined baking sheet and pat both sides dry with paper towels.
- Coat both sides of the ribs with BBQ Seasoning, making sure to coat the edges.
- Cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil and bake for 2 hours.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and discard the foil cover. Coat the ribs with BBQ sauce.
- Return the ribs to the oven and bake at 275 degrees F for an additional hour, or until the ribs are fork tender and reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, measured by a meat thermometer.
- Coat with additional BBQ sauce before serving.

HEARTY SHORT RIB STEW

- For the stew: Heat the oil and butter in a Dutch oven over a medium-high heat. Sprinkle the short ribs with salt and pepper, then brown in batches on all sides in the pan, about 3 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- Add the garlic, onions and carrots to the pan and toss in the drippings. Stir in the tomato paste and allow to cook until it has combined with the vegetables, for 1 minute. Deglaze the pan with the beer and beef stock. Add the Worcestershire sauce, rosemary, bay leaves and the browned short ribs. Cover and cook over a low heat until very tender, 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Stir in the parsley. Remove the rosemary and bay leaves before serving.
- For the buttered egg noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and toss with the butter and parsley. Serve the stew over the buttered noodles.

- Place ribs in 1 or 2 large zippered plastic bags.
- Combine BBQ sauce, soy sauce, ginger and garlic.
- Pour 1 cup BBQ marinade over meat, turning to coat.

- Heat oven to 350°F.
- In 13x9-inch glass baking dish, mix broth, wine, tomato sauce, thyme and marjoram.
- In heavy-duty resealable plastic food-storage bag, place flour, salt and pepper; shake to mix. Add ribs; shake to coat. In baking dish, beat excess flour mixture (about 1 tablespoon) into tomato sauce mixture, using wire whisk.
- In 12-inch nonstick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the oil over medium-high heat. Cook ribs in oil about 5 minutes, turning once, until brown. Place ribs in baking dish; turn to coat with sauce mixture. Add remaining 1 tablespoon oil to skillet; increase heat to high. - Add carrot mixture to ribs and sauce. Cover tightly with foil. Bake 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours or until ribs are tender.
