¼ cantaloupe, cut into balls or cubes
2 bananas, peeled and cut into chunks
1 apple, cut into chunks
20 skewers

Steps:

  • Thread the strawberries, cantaloupe, banana and apple pieces alternately onto skewers, placing at least 2 pieces of fruit on each skewer. Arrange the fruit skewers decoratively on a serving platter.

Steps:

  • Place apple, banana and pineapple alternatively in wooden skewers and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Peel and cut thick slices of banana. Next, peel the apple and chop them in cubes. Wash the green grapes and keep them aside. Now, cube the pineapple pieces and keep aside until required.
  • Dip these fruit skewers firstly in mayonnaise and once coated, roll them up in coconut powder.
  • Garnish fruit skewers with colourful sprinklers and serve cold.

Steps:

  • Slice the cantaloupe and honeydew into 1/2-inch-thick slices. Using small flower-shaped cookie cutters, cut flowers from the melon slices. Using a paring knife, cut a wedge out of the stem end of each strawberry to form a heart shape. Cut the granola bars crosswise into equal squares.
  • Assemble by skewering the ingredients through the ice-pop sticks, alternating between melon flowers, strawberries and granola bars, in any combination.

4 kiwi fruits, peeled and cut in half across the width
1/2 fresh pineapple, peeled and chopped (8 x 3cm wedges)
8 large strawberries
8 ice-cream sticks

Steps:

  • Peel and chop fruit.
  • Thread onto the ice-cream sticks. First the strawberries, then pineapple and lastly the kiwifruits.
  • Use a small paring knife to cut a hole into the centre of the fruits if they do not thread easily onto the ice-cream sticks.
  • Refrigerate until needed.
  • Suggestion-Serve with a yogurt as a dipping sauce.
  • Variation- can use any fruits of your choice. They just need to be approx 3 times wider than the ice-cream stick.
  • For older children you can use small wooden skewers.
