Ingredients

Crushed peppermint candies, optional
1/2 gallon peppermint ice cream, softened
1 bottle (1 liter) club soda, chilled
4 cups eggnog

Steps:

If desired, moisten the rims of punch glasses with water. Sprinkle crushed peppermint candies on a plate; dip rims in candies. Set glasses aside., Just before serving, combine ice cream, club soda and eggnog in a 4-qt. punch bowl. Serve in prepared glasses.

This wonderfully unusual punch is my husband's grandmother's recipe. I normally don't like punch...but the first time I tried this punch I couldn't get enough! Kids love it, too. Makes a nice holiday and shower punch.

1 quart peppermint ice cream
1 cup cold milk
2 liters ginger ale, chilled

Steps:

Place ice cream in a punch bowl, and allow to soften slightly. Blend in milk and ginger ale. Stir until frothy. Serve at once, or keep chilled until ready to serve.

1/2 gallon peppermint ice cream, more for optional ingredient if desired
1 liter bottle of club soda, 7up or ginger ale
4 cups eggnog
1 cup light rum or vodka, optional
extra scoops peppermint ice cream on top, optional
crushed candy canes to rim glasses and punch bowl , optional

Steps:

1. Blend ingredients and pour slowly into punch bowl. Serve immediately. Optional: Moisten rim of glasses and punch bowl and dip into crushed candy canes. Top with extra scoops of peppermint ice cream.

This recipe came from a lady in our electric co-op. They produce a monthly magazine that has all kinds of interesting things and the recipe pages are wonderful Kentucky dishes. This one happened to be for a the lady's daughter's wedding. It'd be great for the holidays too.

Ingredients

1 quart peppermint ice cream, softened
1 (12 ounce) jar strawberry preserves
2 (2 liter) bottles carbonated lemon-lime beverage
1/2 cup peppermint candy, crushed fine
4 -6 whole candy canes

Steps:

Chop the candy canes in a food processor to get them fine enough. Place the softened ice cream and strawberry preserves in a punch bowl. Mix well.
When serving, add the soda and sprinkle in the crushed candy canes on top and stir.
Unwrap the whole candy canes and hang on the sides of the punch bowl with the ends inside.
