●2 package (3 ounces each) cream cheese, at room temperature
●4 teaspoons plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided
● 1 can (12 fluid ounces) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
● 2 cups (12-ounce package) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
●2 tablespoons granulated sugar
●2 teaspoons vanilla extract
●1/8 teaspoon salt
●Raspberry juice or syrup (optional)

Steps:

  • Place pear halves, cut side down, on paper towels. Combine cream cheese and 4 teaspoons sugar in small bowl until smooth. Match pear halves by size. Spread about 1 rounded tablespoon cream cheese mixture on cut side of one pear half; press cut side of second pear half into cream cheese. Repeat with remaining pears. Cover; refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • Heat evaporated milk to boiling in medium, heavy-duty saucepan. Stir in morsels. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is slightly thickened and smooth. Remove from heat; stir in remaining 2 tablespoons sugar, vanilla extract and salt.
  • To serve: Place pears in pool of raspberry sauce; drizzle with chocolate sauce.

1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh thyme, or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried
1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley
1 tablespoon fresh chives, minced
Freshly ground black pepper
1 large head endive, or 2 small heads
Sweet paprika, optional

Steps:

  • In a medium bowl, cream the goat cheese with the back of a kitchen spoon. Add the cream, rosemary, thyme, parsley, chives, and pepper and mix until smooth and creamy. Add more cream if the cheese is particularly thick. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. Bring to room temperature before assembling.
  • Core the endive and separate into spears. Spoon the filling into 20 endive spears, filling each spear about halfway. Assemble on a plate and sprinkle with the paprika, if using. Cover and refrigerate.

20 slices French bread (1/2 inch thick)
1 round (8 ounces) Brie cheese, rind removed and thinly sliced
3 large eggs
2 cups 2% milk
3 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
Maple syrup, optional

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, heat butter over medium heat. Add pears and 2 tablespoons brown sugar; cook and stir until pears are tender, 4-6 minutes. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cranberries and pecans., Place half the bread slices in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Layer with cream cheese mixture, pear mixture and Brie. Top with remaining bread slices. Whisk together next 5 ingredients and remaining brown sugar. Pour over bread. Refrigerate, covered, overnight., Preheat oven to 375°. Remove from refrigerator while oven heats. Bake, uncovered, until top is golden brown, 35-40 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. If desired, serve with syrup.

1 tablespoon dried cranberries
1 tablespoon chopped toasted walnuts
1 teaspoon crumbled goat cheese
1/4 cup apple cider
1 tablespoon maple syrup

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F
  • Peal the pear and slice it in half lengthwise. With a small spoon, scoop out the core and seeds, leaving an indentation for the stuffing. Place the pears in a baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the dried cranberries, walnuts, and coat cheese. Divide evenly among the pear halves, mounding it on top of the indentation.
  • Whisk together the apple cider and maple syrup. Pour over and around the pears.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, occasionally basing the pears with the cider mixture. Serve warm or at room temperature on a bed of greens, dressed with the cider mixture.

My husband loves red pears and this is a recipe he came up with. My husband prefers to cut the top off of the pear and stuff them from the top. I, however, feel it's easier to slice the pears in half lengthwise.

1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 cup gouda cheese, shredded
1/4 cup pecans, chopped (toasted)
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Slice pears in half lengthwise and scoop out a little of the flesh to make bowls.
  • Brush pears with oil. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and thyme.
  • Roast pears for 15 minutes and then take out of the oven.

  • In a large saucepan, combine the water, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon; add peaches. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until peaches are tender. 1 qt. (4 cups) cranberry juice cocktail
2 pkg. (4-serving size each) JELL-O Raspberry Flavor Gelatin
4 fresh pears, peeled
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup chopped walnuts, toasted
1/4 cup whipping cream
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Steps:

  • Stir juice cocktail into dry gelatin mixes in large saucepan. Bring to boil on medium-high heat, stirring frequently until gelatin is dissolved.
  • Add pears; partially cover pan with lid. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 25 min. or just until pears are tender, stirring every 5 min. Remove pears from liquid; discard liquid or reserve for other use. (See Tip.)
