Steps:
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions, shallots, garlic, salt, and pepper. Saute, stirring occasionally, until onions are browned and caramelized, 15 to 18 minutes. If garlic begins to brown too much, add a few tablespoons water and continue cooking.
- Allow mixture to cool for 10 minutes. Transfer to a food processor and puree until smooth. Add cottage cheese, thyme, and marjoram; puree again until smooth. Stir in chopped chives.
- Serve immediately, or refrigerate dip for at least 1 hour or more to give the flavors time to combine.

COTTAGE CHEESE DIP
Got it from a newspaper, and love the different spicy taste. It's great just mix everything up in container. I eat Breton Sesame Crackers and dip vegetables in this. This introduction was posted by the original chef.......I have just adopted it (Feb 2006) and haven't made it yet.

FAMOUS COTTAGE CHEESE DIP
This is a recipe I developed to copy a tasty dip that came from our favorite local mexican restaurant when my husband and I were in college at Michigan State University. It's pretty close to the real thing! A very simple and easy dip to serve with tortilla chips and salsa.
