These ooey-gooey cake bars that pull ever so gently from the pan and hold a firm cut are a baker's dream come true. -Cay Keppers, Nisswa, Minnesota

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 package yellow cake mix (regular size)
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 large egg
FILLING:
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup brickle toffee bits

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a large bowl, beat cake mix, butter and egg until crumbly. Press onto the bottom of a greased 13x9-in. baking pan., In a small bowl, beat milk, egg and vanilla until combined. Stir in pecans and toffee bits. Pour over crust., Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 yellow cake mix
1/3 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup Bits 'o brickle baking chips

Steps:

  • In large bowl combine cake mix, butter, and 1 egg.
  • Mix on high till crumbly.
  • Press onto the bottom of a greased 9x13 pan.
  • In small bowl, beat milk, egg, and maple flavoring until blended.
  • Stir in pecans and bits o brickle chips.
  • Pour over cake mixture in pan, spread to cover.
  • Bake at 350F for 30-35 minutes until light brown.
  • Center may not appear done, but will set after cooled.
  • Cut into bars.

1/2 cup melted margarine
1 1/2 cups graham wafer crumbs
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a bowl, mix together margarine and graham wafer crumbs. Press evenly into a 13 by 9 inch lightly greased pan.
  • Pour condensed milk over base.
  • Working in layers, sprinkle evenly with chocolate chips, then coconut, then nuts. Using a spatula, press down firmly.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until top is golden.
  • Place pan on a rack to cool completely, then cut into bars.

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, cubed
FILLING
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, combine flour and brown sugar; cut in butter until crumbly. Pat into a 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. , Meanwhile, in a bowl, beat eggs and brown sugar; stir in vanilla. Combine flour and salt; add to egg mixture. Fold in coconut and walnuts. Spread over baked crust. Return to oven and bake 20-25 minutes longer or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.

1 box 18 oz. yellow cake mix
1/3 c butter or margarine , softened
2 large eggs, divided, room temperature
1 can(s) 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract (madagascar is my preferred choice)
1 c chopped pecans
1/2 c toffee baking chips (or mini chocolate chips)

Steps:

  • 1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 degrees F. Butter or spray with non stick cooking spray, a 9 X 13 X 2 inch baking dish, and set aside till needed.
  • 2. Combine the cake mix, butter or margarine with one egg in a medium size mixing bowl. Blend on high until the mixture is very crumbly. Then press it into prepared baking pan.
  • 3. In a separate bowl pour condensed milk, the other egg, & vanilla extract & beat until mixed together and then fold in chopped pecans & toffee chips or mini chips. Then pour over prepared crust, and spread it evenly on top.
  • 4. Bake in preheated 350 Degree F oven for 25 to 35 minutes or until lightly browned on top.The center will be a little giggly but will set when cooled. Please allow to cool completely before cutting.
  • 5. Please note: If you use the mini chocolate chips you will have more of a chocolate bar than caramel, because you aren't using the toffee bits. I used what I had, to avoid making a trip to the store, but they were still good.
