California Aged Gouda With Balsamic Reduction image

The nutty richness of aged gouda is a perfect match for a sweet and tangy balsamic vinegar reduction. Serve this beautiful dish as an appetizer or cheese course.

1 cup balsamic vinegar
4 teaspoons sugar
12 (2/3 ounce) spears California aged Gouda cheese
1 sprig Watercress sprigs, for garnish

Steps:

  • In small saucepan over high heat, bring vinegar to simmer. Continue cooking until vinegar is reduced to 1/4 cup.
  • Whisk in sugar; set aside to cool.
  • For each serving, plate 3 spears cheese. Drizzle over 1/4 of the reduction. Garnish with watercress sprigs.
