1 1/2 lbs broccoli, washed and cut into long spears
1/3 cup butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons vinegar
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/3 cup roasted cashews

Steps:

  • Boil broccoli 6 minute until crisp-tender, drain and set aside.
  • Melt butter in saucepan and add remaining ingredients (except for cashews) and bring to a boil.
  • Remove from heat, add cashews. Pour sauce over broccoli.

A new recipe a neighbor gave us. What a hit with my family. Just the right mixture of garlic and cashews with our favorite side dish, broccoli. And, so very easy to make!! If in a pinch, you could probably use frozen broccoli too, but I haven't tried.

1 ½ pounds fresh broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
⅓ cup butter
1 tablespoon brown sugar
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons white vinegar
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cloves garlic, minced
⅓ cup chopped salted cashews

Steps:

  • Place the broccoli into a large pot with about 1 inch of water in the bottom. Bring to a boil, and cook for 7 minutes, or until tender but still crisp. Drain, and arrange broccoli on a serving platter.
  • While the broccoli is cooking, melt the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Mix in the brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, pepper and garlic. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat. Mix in the cashews, and pour the sauce over the broccoli. Serve immediately.

The garlic butter sauce and roasted cashews make this broccoli dish outstanding! Try it with chicken, beef, pork or any meat.

1 1/2 lb fresh broccoli
1/3 c butter or margarine (butters best)
1 Tbsp brown sugar
3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp white vinegar
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp minced garlic
1/3 c salted roasted cashews

Steps:

  • 1. Remove and discard broccoli leaves and tough ends of stalks; cut into spears. Cook broccoli in a small amount of boiling water 8 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain well. Arrange broccoli on a serving platter. Set aside and keep warm.
  • 2. Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat; add brown sugar and next 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil; remove from heat. Stir in cashews. Pour sauce over broccoli and serve immediately. 4 servings
