1 3/4 cups sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups baking apples, peeled and chopped
1/2 cup walnuts

Steps:

  • Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla with electric mixer.
  • Combine dry ingredients and add to butter mixture.
  • Mix until flour is moistened.
  • By hand, fold in apples and walnuts.
  • Spread in greased 9" square baking pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until done.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan and set aside. In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla with mixer. combine dry ingredients and add to the butter mixture. Mix until flour is moistened. Fold in apples and nuts. Spread into prepared baking pan and bake at 350 degrees oven for 45 minutes or until done. Drizzle with glaze, using 1/2 cup confectioner's sugar, i tablespoon and hot water and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla.

3 medium apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
½ cup chopped walnuts

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees with rack in center position. Generously butter an 8-by-11-inch baking dish.
  • Whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a medium bowl. In a separate bowl, beat together butter, sugar, and egg with a mixer until pale, about 2 minutes. 6 medium baking apples, peeled and cored
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
⅔ cup shortening
½ cup milk
3 cups brown sugar, divided
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 cups water
¼ cup butter
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Spray a 9x13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Set apples aside in a cold water bath while you prepare the dough.
  • Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Add shortening and cut together with a pastry blender or a fork until crumbly. Add milk and stir until dough comes together.
  • Combine 1 cup brown sugar and cinnamon in another bowl. Separate dough into six equal portions and roll out to about 1/4-inch thickness. The first time I had these I thought I had died and gone to heaven... This recipe is in the Top 5 for my FAVORITE desserts... Add a scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream on top of one of these YUMMY brownies when they are warm, is the ULTIMATE in desserts in my opinion! 1-23-08 I did make an adjustment on this recipe. It should have been an 8x8" pan not a 9x13"... No wonder they were coming out crumbly! Also, I use 2 med. McIntosh apples for mine.
