Watermelon Vodka Food

WATERMELON VODKA JELLY SHOTS

Steps:

• First, use a serrated knife to cut around the flesh of your watermelon halves. Use an ice cream scoop or large spoon to remove all the flesh, including the pips, into a large bowl. Transfer to a blender or food processor and blitz until smooth.
• Strain the pulp through a fine sieve into a large bowl to extract all the juice. You should be left with about 800ml of watermelon juice. Meanwhile, put the watermelon halves in a medium roasting tin lined with kitchen paper. Make sure the watermelon fits in snugly so it's easily transferable to the fridge.
• Pour 50ml of the juice into a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Once boiling, add the sugar and leave to dissolve for 2 mins. Once cooled a little, squeeze out the soaked gelatine leaves and stir through the warm watermelon juice to dissolve. Once fully dissolved, combine with the rest of the watermelon juice and add the vodka.
• Ladle equal amounts of the juice into each watermelon half. Transfer to the fridge to set for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. When ready to serve, use a serrated knife to cut the watermelon into about 15 wedges. Serve with a warning: these contain lots of vodka!

VODKA AND WATERMELON COOLER

Steps:

• In a blender purée the watermelon pieces and strain the purée through a very fine sieve set over a pitcher, discarding the solids. (There should be about 2-1/3 cups juice). Stir in the vodka, the Triple Sec, and the lime juice, pour the cooler into long-stemmed glasses filled with ice cubes, and garnish each drink with a watermelon slice.

HOW TO MAKE A VODKA-SPIKED WATERMELON

Steps:

• Rotate the watermelon about 90 degrees so the hole is now on the side. If you place the melon close to the edge of the counter, you can rotate it even more, angling it toward the floor while keeping the hole in sight. Moving quickly, place the bottle of vodka in the hole of the watermelon.

VODKA WATERMELON

Steps:

• Cut a hole in the top of the melon which is wide and deep enough to squeeze a funnel into.
• Pour some vodka into the melon (it'll only take so much) and leave to sit for a day in the fridge.
• Repeat this over a few days (approx. 3) until the melon is saturated with vodka.
• Slice and serve!

VODKA WATERMELON COOLER

Steps:

• In a blender, add watermelon, lime juice, honey, and water and blend until fully pureed.
• Pour through fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and seeds. Add vodka and stir to combine.
• Pour over ice and garnish with extra watermelon slices and mint leaves, if desired, and serve immediately.

WATERMELON VODKA COCKTAIL (EASY SUMMER DRINK!)

Steps:

• Add the watermelon cubes to a blender and blend until a juice forms. Then pour the juice through a fine mesh strainer into a clean container. Measure out 1 cup of the juice.
• In cocktail shaker, add all ingredients and stir to combine. Fill the cocktail shaker with ice and shake vigorously.
• Garnish with small watermelon wedges.

WATERMELON VODKA

Steps:

• Simply cut a hole in the top of the melon, wide and deep enough to insert a funnel. Pour some of your chosen alcohol into the melon through the funnel, leave to sit for a day and pour in some more. The flesh will absorb the liquid, so pour in some more the next day--basically until it becomes saturated. When ready to serve, slice up into nice big pieces and get all your mates plastered on it!;

WATERMELON VODKA SODA FLOATS

Steps:

• Fill two large glasses with ice cream scoops. Divide the watermelon juice evenly between the two glasses and then pour the vodka in too. Gently stir a bit if you can--you don't want to totally melt the ice cream. Pour the soda over top of the juice until it reaches the top. Add some straws and sip sip!

WATERMELON VODKA MARTINI

Steps:

• Set aside a few watermelon chunks for garnish and pass remaining watermelon pieces through a juicer. Measure out 1/2 cup and 3 ounces of watermelon juice separately. Reserve remaining watermelon juice for a different use.
• Combine 1/2 cup fresh watermelon juice, sugar, and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Remove from heat and allow watermelon-infused simple syrup to cool, about 30 minutes.
• Combine vodka, 3 ounces watermelon juice, 1 ounce watermelon-infused simple syrup, and fresh lime juice in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice and shake well.
• Place Tajin® seasoning on a saucer. Wet the rim of your glasses with the lime you just squeezed and roll the rim in Tajin® seasoning. Pour cocktail into the cups and garnish with watermelon chunks.
