This recipe is a variation of one that was developed by three employees of NESCO, the slow cooker manufacturer.

Ingredients

5 lbs 95% lean ground beef
2 large onions, chopped
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 green peppers, chopped
1 red pepper, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
2 (15 ounce) cans red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 (32 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
2 (10 1/2 ounce) cans tomato soup
4 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped

Steps:

Preheat a 12 quart roaster oven to 400 degrees.
Add and brown the following ingredients with the cover on, stirring occasionally until evenly browned: ground beef, onions, garlic, and black pepper.
Drain off any fat.
Add the green pepper, red pepper, jalepano pepper, beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato soup, chili powder, cayenne pepper, cumin, brown sugar, and cilantro.
Combine all ingredients until well mixed.
Turn down the heat to 250 degrees for 1-3 hours, the longer the better.
Serve in individual bowls and garnish with finely shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, chopped onion, and/or chopped chilis.

And it says "Powerfoods: 5"...whatever that means. shrug I don't use the jalapeno tomatoes it calls for, since we don't like spicey. I just use regular tomatoes. Super easy and super yum!

Ingredients

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, diced
1 lb ground turkey breast
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes with jalapenos
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can black beans, drained
1 (10 1/2 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
1 (14 ounce) can low sodium chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
hot sauce

Steps:

Heat oil on medium-low. Add onion and saute until soft (about 3-5min). Add turkey and brown (about 5min). Add tomatoes with juice, beans, broth, and spices. Stir and bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20min.

1 onion
1 lb ground turkey
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (15 ounce) can black beans
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans or 1 (15 ounce) can great northern beans, your choice
1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes (with jalapeneos if you like)
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cumin
Tabasco sauce

Steps:

Saute onions in olive oil in very large pan or big pot until soft.
Add turkey and chunk up and brown.
Add everything else.
Let simmer for 10 minutes, or up to a couple hours depending on how thick you want it.
NOTE - Sometimes I use a giant can of Dei Frattelli (sp) whole tomatoes, cut them into fourths and then simmer longer than I would normally. I like the taste better, but the convenience of the above recipe is great.
