Strawberry Wine Punch Food

GERMAN ERDBEER BOWLE (STRAWBERRY WINE PUNCH)

Steps:

• 2-3 hours before your guests arrive, wash the strawberries,drain well and pat dry.
• Halve the berries, then place them in the bottom of large punch bowl or glass pitcher.
• Sprinkle the powdered sugar over them.
• Rinse the lemon balm leaves and shake them dry.
• Pluck the leaves from their stems and add them to the berries.
• Pour one bottle of wine over the berry mixture, cover, and cool in the fridge.
• When the guests have arrived, add the remaining wine and the champagne.
• Lemon balm is an herb in the mint family common in Europe; if unavailable then use a vegetable peeler to cut about 5-6 long narrow curls of lemon rind in place of the balm (remove before serving).

STRAWBERRY WINE PUNCH

Steps:

• Combine strawberries, lemonade and wine in a punch bowl.
• Slowly, pour in the club soda and stir gently.

STRAWBERRY-WHITE WINE PUNCH

Steps:

• Combine the strawberries, sugar, port, limes, and mint in a slow cooker.
• Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours; strain through two layers of cheesecloth lining a colander and return to the crock (put the lime slices back in or slice another fresh lime and add to the crock).
• Add the white wine, cover, and continue to cook on LOW for another 1-2 hours.
• Serve hot.

STRAWBERRY PUNCH

Steps:

• For the strawberry syrup: Heat the strawberries, sugar and 3/4 cup water in a medium saucepan until boiling. Reduce the heat to low and simmer until the mixture thickens and reduces, about 12 minutes. Remove from the heat, cover and let sit to infuse for 10 minutes. Mash the fruit to a pulp, then strain the syrup into an airtight container. Discard the solids. Refrigerate the syrup until ready to use and up to 1 week.
• For the strawberry punch: Combine the strawberry syrup, pineapple juice, orange juice, orange liqueur and rum in a pitcher. Stir until combined, then cover and refrigerate until chilled and ready to serve.
• When ready to use, stir, then divide between 6 glasses filled with ice. Top each beverage with 1/4 cup sparkling wine or sparkling water and garnish with a fresh strawberry.
