- Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Meanwhile, in a large serving bowl, combine the tomatoes, cheese, basil, olives, vinegar, salt and pepper. Drain spaghetti; add to tomato mixture and toss to combine. , In a small nonstick skillet over medium heat, cook garlic in oil until tender. Pour over spaghetti mixture; toss to coat.

- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic powder; cook and stir until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, sugar, basil, parsley, and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens, 1 to 2 hours.

Steps:
- Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Only drain spaghetti, do not rinse.
- Meanwhile, cook onions in 1/2 tbs olive oil in a small pot over medium high heat until soft, about 1 minute.
- Reduce heat to low. Add tomatoes, sugar, pepper and salt to taste. Stir to mix.
- Tomatoes should get warm, but not cooked, about 5 minutes.
- When ready to serve add remaining 1/2 tbs oil, basil and spaghetti to tomatoes. Remove from heat, mix well, cover and let rest for 2 minutes. Serve.

- Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add tomatoes, simmer for 10 seconds and drain. Peel, core and halve tomatoes, discarding seeds and liquid. Chop tomato pulp finely and place in a medium bowl. Add sugar, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add garlic and olive oil, and whisk until blended. Cover with plastic wrap, and allow to sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes and up to 8 hours. Discard garlic.
- Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil, and add spaghetti. Cook until al dente, and drain well. Add tomato mixture to hot pasta, and mix until pasta is evenly coated with sauce. Serve immediately.

- Place the tomatoes in a large salad bowl, add the oil, basil, and garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Toss gently, cover, and set aside in a cool place.
- Forget about the tomatoes for about 30 minutes or so to let the flavors mingle.
- Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti for 8 to 10 minutes, or according to package directions, until it is tender but al dente, or firm to the bite. Drain the spaghetti.
- Remove and discard the garlic from the raw tomato sauce. Add the pasta to the sauce, toss, and serve immediately.
