SIMPLE SIDES: BURNT BROCCOLI
You're hungry, you want something tasty. All you have in the fridge is a bag of broccoli. I got you! We all have made burnt broccoli before. Throw some broccoli in the oven, let it burn. I'm going to give you a quick trick here to make it crispier and yummier. Take it or leave it!

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Here's the trick. Here's what's gonna make your broccoli better than your neighbors broccoli. You're gonna blanch the broccoli. Here's how:
- Have a bowl of cold water ready.
- Boil a separate pot of water.
- Throw the broccoli from the bag in the boiling water. 30 seconds, that's all, take it out.
- Put it in the cold water (a bath if you will). Let it cool off as most of us do while bathing.
- Scoop the broccoli out of the cold water bath and place on a sheet tray (cookie tray, whatever you like to call your trays).
- Season it with salt and pepper and your olive oil. I like to do this in a bowl so I know it's fully coated. I know, extra dishes...but it makes a difference. Sorry.
- Put in oven. Bake for 30 minutes or until crispy.
- After, if you want to indulge and try the mojo, pour it over the broccoli and let your taste buds dance. Preferable salsa as that's what we dance in my household.
- Enjoy!! - Traci

25 BEST BROCCOLI SIDE DISHES FOR DINNER - INSANELY GOOD
From insanelygoodrecipes.com
- Creamy Broccoli Salad. Broccoli and indulgent aren’t words you find together too often. Even so, that’s precisely what this creamy broccoli salad is – indulgent.
- Lemon Parmesan Roasted Broccoli. Parmesan-crusted Brussels sprouts are a favorite side dish of mine. So that’s why it’s surprising it took me so long to try Parmesan-roasted broccoli.
- Roasted Broccoli. If you need a vegan version of roasted broccoli, simply leave out the Parmesan. It’s still crunchy and tasty, just without all the cheese.
- Quick Broccoli and Cheese. Okay, so this recipe is for steamed broccoli, but it’s not “plain old” steamed broccoli. This is an ultra-cheesy recipe for broccoli smothered in cheese.
- Broccoli and Cauliflower “Rice” If you like rice on the side of your meals but wish it had fewer carbs, try this recipe. We all know cauliflower rice is hugely popular, but if you add broccoli to the mix, it’s even more colorful and delicious.
- Broccoli Casserole. No one makes broccoli casserole like my grandma. That said, this recipe gets pretty close. It uses fewer than ten ingredients and has just four steps in the directions.
- Roasted Potatoes and Broccoli. Are you a ‘meat and potatoes’ kind of person? Do you have to force yourself to eat more greens? If so, this roasted potatoes and broccoli recipe should help.
- Easy Low Carb Broccoli Fritters. Fritters are a terrific way to get the kids (and adults) to eat their greens! Between the crunchy edges and tender fillings, they’re just like roasted potatoes – only way tastier!
- Garlic Grilled Broccoli. It’s hard to beat grilled broccoli because it’s effortless to make and retains its snappy crunch. Plus, the smoky, garlic-infused flavor is impossible not to love.
- Broccoli Gratin. I have a serious weakness for potatoes au gratin. I mean, what’s better than tender potatoes with onions, cream, and cheese? That said, the carbs are pretty high.
