Steps:
- Tear soft bread into very small peices and toss into mixer. Add dry onion soup packet, and 1/4 cup flour. Run the mixer on medium to high until you have fine soft bread crumbs. This only takes a few minutes , and is the key to getting the loaf right. The crumbs may dry out a bit, this is desired. Add the beef, dry mustard, salt, pepper, and eggs into the mixture. Blend well until you have a dough-ish ball for the loaf. Press the meat mixture into a loaf pan, with a large indentation lengthwise down the middle of the loaf. Bake on 420 degrees F. for 34- 40 minutes or until loaf appears quite done. Drain off the loaf, the indentation may have collected some grease be sure to drain this off. Pour ketchup down the " ditch" or the indentation of the loaf, and return to the oven for about 8 minutes. The ketchup will have congealed a bit. Let the loaf rest a few minutes before serving.

10 ITEMS YOU MIGHT NOT FIND IN YOUR GROCERY STORE …

- Chickpeas. We love our hummus, but according to Reuters, we might see a drop in the supply of chickpeas soon. The Russian invasion of Ukraine resulted in a drop in production, as both countries are key suppliers of chickpeas for the world.
- Wheat. Ukraine is one of the main suppliers of wheat in the world, and its invasion by Russia disrupted the supply chain entirely, according to Bloomberg.
- Sugar. According to Reuters, Brazil recently diverted more sugarcane to ethanol production, rather than sugar, due to high energy prices. Ethanol, aka alcohol, is used for a variety of products.
- Avocados. You may be seeing less of this fruit (yes, avocado is a fruit) on shelves. The American government suspended imports of Mexican avocados earlier this year after a U.S plant safety inspector based in Mexico received a threat.
- Paper Goods. This is an item that we’ve seen at the top of shortage lists for the last two years—toilet paper. According to Bloomberg, pulp supplies have been affected yet again by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, causing shortages of supply from Europe.
- Canned Goods. With people stocking up on goods like canned biscuits in 2020 and 2021, manufacturers continue to face an aluminum shortage. The shortage has continued through the pandemic, and a reduced supply of products like tomato paste, canned vegetables and soda is likely to stay the norm.
- Eggs and Meat. In spring 2021, news of a chicken shortage resulted in fast-food chains cutting back on chicken items. The shortage then moved over to grocery stores in the fall.
- Pet Food. The continuing shortage of aluminum and shipping issues have led to shortages in dog and cat food across the country, with several local papers reporting bare shelves at the pet stores.
- Baby Formula. The Wall Street Journal broke the news of a baby formula shortage earlier this year, with brands like Enfamil, Similac and Gerber becoming harder to find.
- Liquor. Specifically, champagne, wine and beer. According to Wine Enthusiast, demand dropped for champagne dropped in 2020, and then rose again in 2021.

- Beef. Beef, according to its producers' marketing slogan, is what's for dinner. And that's often true for many, whether it be it in the form of hamburgers, a roast, ribs, or steak.
- Lettuce. Lettuce, that crisp and leafy green that serves as the basis for countless salads and tops numerous sandwiches, was harder to find than usual in the United States in 2022.
- Beer. It's not just foods that face scarcity in the months to come — beverages do, too. A possible and looming shortage of beer in 2023 isn't necessarily because of the difficulty in growing or obtaining the raw ingredients needed to make the alcoholic beverage.
- Champagne. According to European law, real Champagne must be grown, fermented, and bottled within 100 miles of the Champagne region of France (via Wine Country).
- Oranges. According to the Florida Department of Citrus, that state is one of the world's most prolific regions for growing oranges and producing orange juice.
- Cooking oil. There's a certain category of commercial agriculture called oilseed crops, which collectively make up the raw materials used to make cooking oils.
- Butter. Refrigerated butter shelves in supermarkets aren't suddenly going to turn empty — the United States has been enduring some supply and cost issues with butter since the last few months of 2022.
- Corn. Corn is the single most lucrative cash crop in the United States. The production, distribution, and sale of corn contributed $71.1 billion to the American economy in 2021, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
- Eggs. One could argue that eggs are literally the glue of the American diet. They're a binder and ingredient in a vast variety of baked goods, as well as a protein-rich breakfast and brunch staple, be they scrambled, fried, poached, or made into a quiche or omelet.
- Tomatoes. It's highly likely that the produce in the average American kitchen originated in California. In 2021, according to the state's Department of Food and Agriculture, a third of the nation's vegetables and 75% of its fruit and nuts came from the Golden State.
