Salty pretzels, creamy caramel, semi sweet chocolate and a sprinkling of sea salt, that's right, only four ingredients and this sweet and salty treats can be yours to enjoy!

1 (12 ounce) package of good quality semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted and divided
8 ounces mini pretzel twists
1 (11 ounce) package caramels, melted
Coarse sea salt for sprinkling

Steps:

  • Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper, Melt 8 ounces of chocolate whether on the stove or in the microwave, on low, stirring frequently, when melted and smooth, spread into a "rectangle shape" on prepared pan. Press pretzels into the warm chocolate, it's okay to let them overlap. Unwrap and melt caramels with about 2 Tablespoons of water. Again you can do this on the stove or in the microwave. Just make sure you are stirring frequently. When caramels are melted and smooth pour them over the pretzels. Melt remaining 4 ounces of chocolate chips and drizzle over caramel and sprinkle with sea salt. Place in the refrigerator until caramel and chocolate are set. Break or cut into pieces.

8 ounces mini pretzels
1 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar
2 cups milk chocolate chips
sea salt to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line an 11x17-inch baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.
  • Spread pretzels onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Combine butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium-low heat; cook and stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is thickened, 5 to 8 minutes. Pour mixture over pretzels.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over pretzel mixture. Bake for 1 minute more. Stir mixture to evenly spread chocolate over pretzels. Lightly sprinkle salt over pretzels. Cool until set, 2 to 3 hours. Break into pieces.

My mom made some of these for her cookie swap one year. I love chocolate covered pretzels. It's also fun to package them up individually and color code some ribbons to make them look pretty!

2 box(es) pretzel rods
2 bag(s) melting chocolates
1 jar(s) caramel
- coarse sea salt
- jimmes and/or sprinkles

Steps:

  • Double boil the chocolates and dip the rods into the melted chocolate to that at least half of the rod is covered. Set on parchment paper to cool
  • Warm up the caramel in the microwave per directions on the container. Drizzle the caramel in fun styles over the chocolate.
  • While the caramel is setting up, sprinkle some sea salt onto the pretzel rod.
  • Don't use too much salt since the pretzels already have a decent amount.
  • Now add your colorful jimmies or sprinkles and let cool.
