10 slices raisin bread, cut into cubes
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon clove
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/4 cups apple juice
1/2 cup apple butter
1/4 cup dried apple, chopped
1/4 cup raisins
2 tablespoons molasses
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or oven-proof casserole.
  • Spread the bread cubes in the bottom of the baking dish.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, beat together eggs, milk, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla.
  • Pour mixture over bread.
  • In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and 2 teaspoons of sugar; sprinkle over the top of pudding mixture.
  • Bake pudding at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until it is lightly browned and firm.
  • To prepare sauce, stir together apple juice, apple butter, apples, raisins, molasses, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan over low heat.
  • Simmer 5-10 minutes or until warm and well blended.
  • Serve sauce over warm pudding.

6 tablespoons unsalted butter (4 melted, 2 cold), plus more, softened, for baking dish
5 cups milk
6 large eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 one-day-old baguettes (about 1 pound), torn (or cut) into small pieces
2 red apples (such as Gala or Rome), peeled, cored, and thinly sliced lengthwise
1/4 cup dark raisins
1/4 cup golden raisins

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9-by-13-inch (or other shallow 3-quart) baking dish. In a large bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, orange zest, cinnamon, and salt; add bread. Cover with plastic wrap; weight with another bowl. Let stand until bread is soaked through, about 20 minutes.
  • Fold in apples, raisins, and 4 tablespoons melted butter; pour into prepared baking dish. Dot top of bread pudding with thin slivers of remaining 2 tablespoons cold butter.
  • Bake until pudding is set and lightly golden on top, 50 minutes to 1 hour. Serve warm.

1 cup raisins, or to taste
4 cups milk
8 eggs
⅔ cup white sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Fill an 11x12-inch pan with dried bread cubes and sprinkle with raisins.
  • Combine milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl. Beat with an electric mixer until smooth. Pour milk-egg mixture over bread cubes and raisins.

1 granny smith apple, peeled and chopped
2 1/2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons of dried raisins
1 1/2 bananas
1 cup half and half milk
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon honey
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon unbleached cane sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs

Steps:

  • Step 1:Heat oven to 350 F.
  • Step 2: Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a small pan, then add chopped apple. Stir and add honey, cane sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon. Then add raisins. Cook until apple soft.
  • Step 2: Mix eggs, milk, vanilla, nutmeg, cinnamon and whip until smooth.
  • Step 3: Grease small bowl with remainder of butter, then layer apple sauce, sliced bananas, then bread. Layer to top of bowl. Then pour milk over top.
  • Bake in oven in shallow pan of water for 45 minutes.

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  • Place bread cubes in a greased 3-qt. slow cooker. In a large bowl, beat eggs and milk; stir in the sugar, butter, raisins and cinnamon. Pour over bread; stir. , Cover and cook on high for 1 hour. Reduce heat to low; cook for 3-4 hours or until a thermometer reads 160°., For sauce, melt butter in a small saucepan. Stir in flour until smooth. Gradually add water, sugar and vanilla. 1/3 cup chopped dried figs
1/4 cup Marsala or brandy
9 white sandwich bread slices
5 tablespoons butter, room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1 egg yolk
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
1 1/2 cups milk (do not use lowfat or nonfat)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons grated lemon peel
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 apple, peeled, cored, chopped

Steps:

  • Combine raisins, figs and Marsala in small bowl. Let stand 30 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Generously butter 8-cup soufflé dish. Spread 1 side of each bread slice generously with butter. Cut bread into 1-inch cubes. Transfer to prepared dish. Mix sugar, eggs and egg yolk in large bowl. Whisk in cream and next 4 ingredients. Stir in apple, raisins and figs with Marsala. Pour over bread and stir to combine. Let stand 5 minutes. Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Bring water, orange juice, brown sugar, molasses, zests, and cloves to a boil in a 2-quart saucepan, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat and simmer syrup, uncovered, 20 minutes, then discard zests and cloves.
  • While syrup simmers, heat 1 tablespoon butter in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over moderate heat until foam subsides, then brown bread slices on both sides in 3 batches, adding 1 tablespoon butter per batch.
