This purple smoothie is bursting with antioxidants, thanks to the blueberries and frozen pineapple. My kids love the bright purple color, and it also freezes well for popsicles!

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
1 frozen banana (, cut into pieces)
1/2 cup frozen pineapple
1/2 cup frozen blueberries

Steps:

  • Combine the water, orange juice, banana, pineapple, and blueberries in a high-speed blender, and blend until very smooth. Add a splash more water, if needed to help it blend.
  • Pour into a glass and serve right away.

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 cups plain Greek yogurt
2 cups frozen blueberries
2 cups frozen mixed berries (or frozen strawberries)
1/4 cup honey
1 banana, peeled
1/4 head red cabbage
1 cup cranberry or grape juice (or any deep red/purple juice)

Steps:

  • Add the yogurt, frozen berries, honey, banana and cabbage to a blender. Then pour in the juice and blend until smooth!
  • Pour into ice-pop molds and stash them in the freezer until totally frozen. Remove and eat as required!

This is a thick, creamy and filling breakfast, with crunch from the blackberry seeds! Sweeten as desired, with your favorite liquid sweetener.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/3 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup soymilk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or 1/2 teaspoon vanilla soymilk
1 tablespoon maple syrup (to taste) or 1 tablespoon honey (to taste)
1 cup blackberry (fresh or frozen)
1/2 banana, broken into chunks (fresh or frozen)

Steps:

  • Combine the oats and soymilk overnight in a lidded container in the fridge, to soften the oats.
  • When ready to make, transfer the oats and soymilk to a blender/food processor with the vanilla, berries, and banana. Blend 2-3 minutes, or till smooth.
  • Taste and add sweetener, blending and tasting again before you pour it into a mug to enjoy :-).

  • Put the blueberries, grapes, strawberries, banana, yogurt, milk, honey and ice into blender and blitz until smooth. Serve immediately.

Made this today when I was craving fresh fruit and milk! Black grapes give this smoothie a very 'cool' purple colour, so this is a LOT of fun to drink... and it's healthy too! Using soy milk makes this vegan.

1/2 banana, cut into chunks
15 black grapes (a little less than 1/2 cup) or 15 thompson seedless grapes (you'd get the purple colour only with black grapes!)
3 large ice cubes
1/3 cup cold skim milk or 1/3 cup cold soymilk

Steps:

  • Process banana in a blender until pureed (about 30 seconds).
  • Add the black grapes and process again until smooth (15 seconds or so).
  • Now add the ice cubes and process until some of them are crushed.
  • Finally, add the milk, process until smooth, pour into a tall, pretty glass, and drink!
