PEANUT BUTTER RICE KRISPIES TREATS
My mother was making these treats 40 years ago for her kids. My college age nephew asked me to make a batch for him yesterday and they are so easy and fast to make. Much less time consuming than a batch of cookies. And yummy too.

Steps:
- Measure out the Rice Krispies in a large bowl (I use the largest I can set my hands on).
- Combine brown sugar and corn syrup in small saucepan and cook on medium heat until mixture begins to bubble on top.
- Take off heat and stir in the peanut butter.
- Add mixture to Rice Krispies and stir until all the Krispies are coated, then pour into 9x11 or 9x13 baking dish. Smooth over with a spatula, let set for an hour or so and tada! (You might run a knife through warm water to help cut nice, clean squares).

PEANUT BUTTER RICE CRISPY TREATS
This is an easy wonderfully tastey treat that is great for all occasions. This is my mother in law's recipe, that my sweet husband had as a child, and my children ask for also. I have also molded these in to little brains on Halloween.

PUFFED MILLET AND BROWN RICE TREATS
The nutty flavor and varied textures of chewy puffed millet, crunchy brown rice and a touch of honey come together with a little marshmallow for a more complex version of your standard rice cereal treat.

Steps:
- Line a 9-inch by 13-inch pan with foil, leaving a 2-inch overhang on two sides. Lightly coat the foil and a wooden spoon with cooking spray.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the marshmallows, honey, vanilla and salt. Stir with the prepared wooden spoon until the marshmallows have completely melted, 4 to 5 minutes. Add the rice cereal and puffed millet and stir until the mixture is fully combined. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and press into an even layer. Let sit at room temperature until firm, about 20 minutes.
- Using the overhanging foil as handles, lift the treats out of the pan and invert onto a cutting board. Cut into 15 pieces. The treats can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to a week. Let sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving for a gooier texture.
PEANUT BUTTER CRISPY RICE TREATS
I found this recipe in the paper the other day and tried it. It's a different way to make rice crispy treats from the way it is usually made with marshmallows. It should be eaten as soon as possible because it will start to go stale overnight. Do not substitute margarine for real butter. The margarine has too much moisture.

CRISPY RICE TREATS
Steps:
- Melt the butter over low heat in a large pot. Stir in the marshmallows and cook until fully melted and no marshmallow white remains. Stir in the peanut butter until combined. Stir in the cereal until distributed evenly through the marshmallow mixture. Pour out onto a lightly greased rectangular baking dish (9 by 13 inches). Smooth out the top of the treats by moistening your hands with a little water and using the palms of your hand to press down gently. Don't press down too hard or else your treats will be too dense. Set aside to cool.
- Once the treats have cooled, melt the chocolate over low heat. Cut the treats into even squares and quickly just shallowly dip the top side of the treats into the chocolate. Turn chocolate side up and set in a baking dish or on a rack until set.
