1/2 lb. tagliatelle pasta, uncooked
8 cups chopped stemmed kale leaves
4 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cut into 1/2-inch-thick slices
1 onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic. minced
1/4 cup KRAFT Italian Vinaigrette Dressing made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/2 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Steps:

  • Cook pasta in large saucepan as directed on package, omitting salt and stirring kale into the boiling water for the last 2-1/2 min. Drain in colander, reserving 1/2 cup of the cooking water.
  • Cook and stir bacon in large skillet on medium heat until crisp; drain. Reserve bacon for later use.
  • Add onions, garlic and dressing to skillet; cook on medium heat 5 min., stirring frequently. Add reserved cooking water; stir. Bring to boil. Add pasta mixture; mix lightly. Remove from heat.
  • Top with cheese and reserved bacon.

1 pound penne rigate pasta
4 ounces bacon, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces
2 pounds zucchini, (about 2 large), diced
1/2 to 1 cup reserved pasta water
3/4 cup very loosely packed, finely grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
Coarse salt and cracked black pepper

Steps:

  • Cook the pasta in boiling, salted water to al dente. Drain the pasta, reserving 1 cup of the cooking water. Return the pasta to the pot and set aside.
  • In a large saute pan, add the bacon and cook until the fat is rendered and the bacon is crispy. Add the zucchini and cook until it starts to soften. Place the cooked pasta over low heat. Add the reserved pasta water, cooked bacon, zucchini and the grated cheese. Toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings. Serve immediately.

Throw together bacon lardons, leafy greens and crunchy pine nuts for this easy, quick pasta recipe - use wholewheat pasta for extra fibre

300g pasta (we used wholewheat fusilli)
1 tbsp olive oil
180g pack smoked bacon lardons
2 large garlic cloves , finely chopped
1 red chilli , deseeded and finely chopped
4 tbsp pine nuts
200g chopped curly kale
3 tbsp cream cheese
½ lemon , juiced

Steps:

  • Boil a large pan of water and cook the pasta following pack instructions.
  • Heat the oil in a non-stick frying pan over a medium-high heat and cook the lardons for a few mins until golden and a little crisp. Stir in the garlic, red chilli and pine nuts, then cook for 1 min more until the garlic and chilli are softened and the pine nuts just toasted.
  • Turn up the heat and add the kale to the pan with a splash of water, cover and cook for 3-4 mins until wilted. Drain the cooked pasta and add to the pan with the cream cheese and lemon juice. Toss together, taste, and season with black pepper.

  • Pull the kale leaves from the woody stems and tear them into small 1 to 2-inch pieces. Rinse the torn kale well in a colander under cool, running water and allow it to drain.
  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Break the pasta in half, add it to the boiling water, and cook until al dente (about 7 minutes). Drain the pasta in a colander.
  • While the pasta is cooking, add the olive oil, butter, and minced garlic to another large pot or skillet. Cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, or until the garlic is soft and fragrant. Add the kale and continue to sauté until the kale has wilted and has turned a deep green color (about 5-7 minutes). Turn the heat off.
  • Add the drained pasta to the pot with the sautéed kale. Toss the pasta and kale together. Allow them to cool to the point that steam is no longer rising from the pot. You want the pasta warm, but not hot enough to melt the Parmesan.
