Moms Hamburger Green Bean Tomato Soup Mashed Potato Hot Dish Food

THE MIXTURE - GREEN BEAN, MASHED POTATO, GROUND BEEF CASSEROLE

Steps:

• Peel the potatoes and cut into chunks. Start them boiling.
• Meanwhile, start green beans boiling.
• Meanwhile, brown ground beef.
• Slice onions and spray casserole dish with non-stick coating.
• Place the browned ground beef in the bottom of the casserole dish. Cover with half of the cheese (tearing cheese slices into chunks if using) and half of the sliced onions.
• Add green beans next, and repeat cheese & onion layers.
• Drain potatoes, add milk and butter in your preferred amounts and mash. I use about 2 tablespoons butter & add milk until the consitancy is right.
• Spread mashed potatoes over top of casserole.
• Sprinkle with additional cheese and breadcrumbs followed by paprika if desired, otherwise just with paprika.
• Bake for about 20-30 minutes in a 400 oven until top of mashed potatoes is golden and cheese is well melted. May be prepared in advance, refridgerated and baked later.
• Hints: if this is too bland, some suggestions to spice it up: try adding garlic, worcestershire sauce and other spices when browning beef. Add paprika and garlic powder to the potatoes while mixing. Use jalapeno cheese.

HAMBURGER, POTATO, GREEN BEAN ONE DISH MEAL

Steps:

• Fry hamburger in a dutch oven until done
• Do not drain (optional)
• Add peeled, diced potatoes and cook until tender
• Add green beans with juice
• Add cream of mushroom soup and heat through
• Season with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic - you choose

MOM'S HAMBURGER, GREEN BEAN, TOMATO SOUP, MASHED POTATO HOT DISH

Steps:

• Mom also likes to throw in her favorite seasonings too, if desired, to the hamburger mixture as it browns. Brown hamburger with the onion.
• In a casserole dish, combine hamburger/onion mixture, tomato soup and green beans.
• Mix together .
• Top the whole dish with prepared mashed potatoes.
• Bake uncovered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
• (Note: Mom actually never used instant potatoes. She made extra real mashed potatoes for dinner a day ahead and used those planned-ahead mashed potatoes).

MOM'S HAMBURGER AND GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE

Steps:

• Preheat oven to 350.
• Brown the ground beef. Drain.
• Empty tomato soup into a casserole dish. (I use an oval pyrex 11X81/2X3).
• Pour 1/2 of can of green bean juice into soup. Drain rest of green beans and add to dish.
• Add dehydrated onion, salt, and pepper.
• Mix.
• Add drained ground beef into soup mixture. Mix well.
• Beat egg and add to mashed potatoes. Mix well.
• Top meat mixture with mashed potatoes.
• Don't cover green bean mixture completely, leave a little area all around to allow mixture to bubble and not bubble over.
• Try to make peaks with the potatoes for and extra special look.
• Bake 30-45 minutes or until potatoes are browned.

HAMBURGER PIE

Steps:

• Brown onion in hot fat; add meat and seasonings; brown. Add drained beans and soup; pour into greased casserole. Mash potatoes; add milk, egg, and seasonings. Spoon in mounds over meat. Bake in moderate oven (350°F) 30 minutes.
