MIDNIGHT FIZZ
While a classic gin fizz uses lemon juice, the sweet acidity of lime in this variation skews it toward a (very) frothy gimlet. To ensure plenty of that froth, use a double shake to make the cocktail: first without ice to foam the egg white, then a second time with ice to chill and dilute the drink. Serve traditionally without ice in a small Collins or fizz glass, or go rogue and serve over a few cubes. Either way, as with all egg white drinks, drink with efficiency to capitalize on the drink's froth and avoid its inevitable separation.

HOW TO MAKE LEMON / LIME / ORANGE ZEST
Does running your fruit over a box grater / hand grater not work? Here is a handy post on how to zest citrus fruits using your handheld kitchen appliances since the by-hand way is so time consuming! I keep a jar of dried orange zest around but I like fresh lemon/lime zest sometimes.

Steps:
- You will need a vegetable/potato peeler plus a mini food chopper or spice grinder for this. Blenders also work.
- Wash your fruit, then make sure it is perfectly dry.
- Run the peeler down the lemon/lime and make about 8 strips.
- Cut the strips in half.
- Put the strips in the chopper/grinder with the sugar and then pulse in the chopper until very fine. If using a blender, use the Liquefy setting for about 15-20 seconds.
- It's ready to be used in your recipe now!
- Got dried zest such as dried orange peel, etc? If you're like me and prefer the convenience of dried, here's how to make it close to fresh-- hydrate it with 3 parts water to 1 part peel. and let it stand for 15 minutes prior to using. I think powdered lemon rind works like regular zest and doesn't require rehydration.
- Please note-- rehydration DOUBLES the dry amount! For instance, if you hydrate 1 Tbsp zest with 3 Tbsp water, you will get 2 Tbsp "freshened" zest.

32 BEST CITRUS COCKTAIL RECIPES - THE SPRUCE EATS
From thespruceeats.com
- Ward Eight Cocktail. A legend in the cocktail world, the Ward Eight is an enhanced whiskey sour. Choose bourbon or rye whiskey, then add equal pours of orange and lemon juices and just a dash of grenadine for sweetness to recreate this 19th-century drink.
- Buck's Fizz. A fantastic brunch cocktail dating to the 1920s, the Buck's fizz is possibly the predecessor to the mimosa. The only things you need to pull off this drink are orange juice and Champagne (or sparkling wine like Cava), though an orange twist adds an elegant touch.
- The Last Word Cocktail. The last word cocktail is often an overlooked drink, but this variation on the gimlet deserves a taste. In it, the combo of gin and lime is enhanced with Green Chartreuse and maraschino liqueur.
- Blood and Sand Cocktail. For scotch drinkers, there is the blood and sand cocktail. Best described as a scotch Manhattan with cherry brandy and orange juice, the four ingredients are poured equally (so it's easy to remember) for a well-balanced cocktail that will impress anyone.
- Pisco Sour. Key lime juice is not called for often in cocktails, though it does make the pisco sour far more enjoyable than the standard lime. To offset that intense citrus flavor, a touch of simple syrup sweetens the mix while an egg white gives the drink a luscious texture.
12 POPULAR LEMON LIME SODAS, RANKED WORST TO BEST
From thedailymeal.com
- Sprite. Was there ever any doubt about which soda would take the top prize? When you think of lemon lime-flavored sodas, you most likely think of Sprite first.
- Mountain Dew. Much like Mello Yello, Mountain Dew is a genreless soda. Is it orange-flavored? No. Lemon? No. Grapefruit? Nope. It has the hints of a more juice-oriented lemon lime soda, with the right kind of kick and a great bite upon the first sip.
- 7-Up. 7-Up is the best lemon lime soda to come from the drink's early generations. In fact, it was the very first lemon lime soda ever marketed, created by Charles Leiper Grigg in 1929.
- Mello Yello. There are sodas that are not explicitly lemon lime that the internet deems must be included in all discussions around the flavor. These are drinks that aren't necessarily orange-flavored but are considered citrus, much like lemon lime.
- Sierra Mist/Starry. Earlier this year, Sierra Mist fans bid adieu to their longtime drink, which was sacked by Pepsi in favor of a new lemon lime offering called Starry.
