Steps:
- In 10-inch skillet, cook sausage and beef until thoroughly cooked and no longer pink, stirring frequently; drain. Stir in remaining meat filling ingredients; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly heated.
- Meanwhile, heat oven to 375°F. In small bowl, mix cheese filling ingredients. Unroll both cans of dough. Place dough rectangles side by side, on ungreased cookie sheet (if using crescent dough, firmly press edges and perforations to seal). Press to form 15x13-inch rectangle.
- Spoon half of meat filling in 6-inch wide strip lengthwise down center of dough to within 1 inch of short sides. Spoon cheese filling over meat filling; spoon remaining meat filling evenly over cheese filling. Arrange mozzarella cheese slices over filling.
- Fold short sides of dough 1 inch over filling. Fold long sides of dough tightly over filling, overlapping edges in center 1/4 inch; firmly pinch center seam and ends to seal. Brush with milk; sprinkle with sesame seed.
- Bake 23 to 27 minutes or until deep golden brown.

CRESCENT ROLL LASAGNA
My mom used to make this crescent roll lasagna for us and everyone loved it. It's a fast, yummy alternative to normal lasagna and our most often requested recipe at potlucks. My husband loves spicier food so for him I put in more seasoning to make the meat pop. You can make it ahead of time; just refrigerate covered for up to 3 hours and then increase baking time to 25 to 30 minutes.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef and sausage in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease. Add onion, tomato paste, garlic, parsley, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
- Combine cottage cheese, Parmesan cheese, and egg in a bowl for filling.
- Unroll 1 can of crescent rolls on an ungreased 15x13-inch cookie sheet and press the edges together to seal. Spread 1/2 of the meat mixture on top, to within 1 inch of the edge of the dough. Top with cheese filling. Spoon remaining meat mixture carefully on top. Place mozzarella cheese slices on top of the meat.
- Unroll remaining crescent can and place dough on top, being careful to overlap the edges by about 1/4 inch. Pinch the edges to seal to prevent leaking. Brush dough with milk; sprinkle on sesame seeds.
- Bake in the preheated oven until golden, 20 to 25 minutes.

Steps:
- To make the sauce: Melt the butter in a heavy medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Add the flour and whisk for 3 minutes. Whisk in the milk. Increase the heat to medium-high. Whisk the sauce until it comes to a simmer and is thick and smooth, about 3 minutes. Whisk the salt, pepper, and nutmeg into the bechamel sauce.
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F.
- Whisk the ricotta, spinach, 1 cup Parmesan, prosciutto, egg, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl to blend.
- Add a tablespoon or 2 of oil to a large pot of boiling salted water. Boil the noodles until just tender but still firm to bite. Drain. Arrange the noodles in a single layer on a baking sheet to prevent them from sticking.
- Butter a 13-by-9-by-2-inch glass baking dish. Pour the bechamel sauce over the bottom of the prepared dish. Lay out 4 lasagna noodles on a work surface, then spread a large spoonful (about 3 tablespoons worth) of ricotta mixture evenly over each noodle. Starting at 1 end, roll each noodle like a jelly roll. Lay the lasagna rolls seam side down, without touching, atop the bechamel sauce in the dish. Repeat with the remaining noodles and ricotta mixture. Spoon 1 cup of marinara sauce over the lasagna rolls. Sprinkle the mozzarella and remaining 2 tablespoons of Parmesan over the lasagna rolls. Cover tightly with foil. Bake until heated through and the sauce bubbles, about 20 minutes. Uncover and bake until the cheese on top becomes golden, about 15 minutes longer. Let stand for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, heat the remaining marinara sauce in a heavy small saucepan over medium heat until hot, and serve alongside.

Steps:
- Boil the lasagna noodles in a large pot of salted water until al dente, or 2 minutes shy of the package directions. Drain and lay the cooked noodles on an oiled baking sheet, oiling any overlapping noodles to prevent sticking.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot over high heat, add the canola oil, onion, and garlic, and cook until they begin to brown, stirring occasionally, 2-3 minutes. Add the beef, sausage, salt, and pepper and cook, breaking up the meat as you stir, until all of the moisture has evaporated and the meat is starting to brown on the edges, 4-5 minutes. Add the tomato sauce, then reduce the heat to low, and simmer until the sauce becomes extremely thick, almost paste-like, stirring occasionally, 10-15 minutes. Remove from the heat.
- In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta, Parmesan, basil, and egg and mix until smooth. Set aside.
- Slice 6 of the lasagna noodles in half. These will serve as the layers in between the meat and the cheese mixture.
- Spray a bundt pan with nonstick cooking spray, then lay 12 noodles into the bottom of the pan, fanning them out in an overlapping pattern. One end of the noodles should run up the center of the pan, and the other end of the noodles should hang over the sides.
- Sprinkle half of the mozzarella into the bottom of the pan on top of the noodles. This will help bind the noodles together when cooked. Spread half of the meat mixture evenly in a ring over the top of the mozzarella, then lay half of the cut noodle pieces over the top to create a noodle layer. Spread all of the ricotta mixture over the noodles in an even ring, then layer with the rest of the noodles and the rest of the meat sauce.
- Fold the edges of the lasagna noodles hanging over the sides of the pan back towards the center, creating another overlapping pattern. Sprinkle the rest of the mozzarella evenly on top.
- Bake for about 45 minutes, or until the cheese is a deep golden brown.
- Cool for about an hour, then carefully invert the ring onto a cutting board. Slice the ring, then top with any extra Parmesan and basil. Place a small bowl filled with marinara in the center of the ring for dipping, and serve.
- Enjoy!
