SPICY BABY BACK RIBS

Spicy Baby Back Ribs image

Provided by Ree Drummond : Food Network

Categories     main-dish

Time 12h15m

Yield 15 to 20 servings

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cans pop, such as Dr. Pepper
2 cups barbecue sauce
2 cups brown sugar
Two 5-ounce cans chipotle peppers in adobo
2/3 cup brown mustard
2 tablespoons white vinegar
6 cloves garlic, minced
6 racks pork baby back ribs

Steps:

  • To prepare the marinade, add the pop, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, chipotles, mustard, vinegar and garlic to a medium saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil and cook until reduced and thick, about 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely. Divide into 2 containers and refrigerate one container for later.
  • Brush the remaining container of the marinade all over the ribs on both sides. Wrap each strip of ribs individually in foil and refrigerate for 8 hours to marinate.
  • When you're ready to cook the ribs, preheat the oven to 275 degrees F.
  • Place the ribs, still covered in foil, onto baking sheets and cook for 2 hours. Increase the temperature to 300 degrees F. Open the foil packages and use the other container of marinade to brush another generous layer all over the ribs. Return the ribs to the oven with their foil packages still open and continue cooking for another 30 to 40 minutes, brushing on another layer of marinade as they cook.
  • Remove the ribs when they're fork-tender (keep cooking until they are). Slice and serve!

SLOW-COOKER TERIYAKI RIBS

Slow-Cooker Teriyaki Ribs image

Provided by Ree Drummond : Food Network

Time 8h30m

Yield 4 to 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 15

2 racks baby back ribs (about 5 pounds total)
Kosher salt
1 head garlic, cloves peeled and roughly chopped
One 3-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup rice vinegar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup rice vinegar
2 teaspoons honey
One 14-ounce bag shredded coleslaw mix
1 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1 small red onion, thinly sliced
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • For the ribs: Cut each rack of ribs in half. Sprinkle the ribs with salt. Scatter the garlic and ginger in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker, then top with the ribs, bone-side down. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 hours, making sure not to lift the lid or otherwise disturb the ribs.
  • Transfer the ribs to a baking sheet and loosely cover to keep warm.
  • Strain the cooking juices from the slow cooker into a large skillet. Stir in the honey, soy sauce and vinegar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Stir together the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons water in a small bowl, then whisk into the skillet and simmer until thickened, about 1 minute.
  • Cut the ribs into pieces and put back in the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat. Turn off the heat and keep warm.
  • For the slaw: Whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar and honey in a large bowl. Add the coleslaw mix, cilantro and red onion and toss to coat well. Season with salt and pepper if needed. Tip into a serving bowl.
  • Serve the ribs in the skillet with the slaw alongside.

KITTENCAL'S JUICY GRILLED TERIYAKI HAMBURGERS

Kittencal's Juicy Grilled Teriyaki Hamburgers image

These are fantastic when made on the outdoor grill! ---plan ahead the ground beef mixture *must* refrigerated 8-24 hours before shaping into patties -- for extra moistness add in 2-3 tablespoons grated *raw* potatoes --- I use my recipe#203857 for these burgers but any Italian seasoned is fine to use --- cooking time is only estimated.

Provided by Kittencalrecipezazz

Categories     Meat

Time 8h16m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 lbs ground beef (or use 1-1/2 pounds beef and 1/2 pound ground pork)
1/3 cup bottled teriyaki sauce
1 onion, chopped (or use 2 green onions, chopped)
1 tablespoon fresh minced garlic (can use 2 tablespoons)
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 teaspoon fresh ground black pepper
1/3 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs (more if needed)
3 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1/3 cup ice water (water that has been left in ice for minimum of 5 minutes)
6 toasted buttered hamburger buns
6 sliced mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • In a bowl combine together ground beef with 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce, chopped onions, fresh garlic, seasoned salt, black pepper, seasoned bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese; using clean hands mix until well combined.
  • Cover and refrigerate for 8-24 hours.
  • Just before shaping into patties mix in the ice water if you ice cubes are very small then add them in also (if the mixture seems too moist to shape then add in a little more seasoned breadcrumbs).
  • Shape into 6 patties then place on a pan.
  • Using middle finger make an indent in the middle of of each burger, this will allow the burger to remain flat and not puff up while cooking.
  • Grill or oven-broil until cooked through.
