Skip the artificial flavors and instead try cucumber water with this easy and simple recipe. Cucumber adds more zest to your water, making it easier to get the hydration you need. Serve cucumber water to keep guests cool and refreshed.

Ingredients

1 medium cucumber, scrubbed well
2 quarts spring water

Steps:

Remove strips of cucumber skin, creating 1/2-inch-wide alternating bands of peeled and bare cucumber. Trim and discard ends. Halve cucumber lengthwise; cut into 1/2-inch slices. Combine cucumber and water in large pitcher; steep for 1 hour, and serve over ice.

3 medium cucumbers, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
2 cups water
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
Minced fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

In a bowl, combine cucumbers, onion, water and salt. Let stand for 1 hour; drain and rinse. In a serving bowl, beat cream, sugar and vinegar. Add cucumbers and onion; toss gently. Sprinkle with parsley if desired.
