The mellow flavor of chicken pairs well with honey, orange juice and garlic. Broiling for a few minutes gives the chicken a little golden color.

4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves (4 ounces each)
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons orange or lemon juice
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
1 to 2 garlic cloves, minced

Steps:

  • Place chicken in a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients; pour over chicken., Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 15 minutes. Broil 4 to 6 in. from the heat for 5-7 minutes or until juices run clear, basting occasionally with sauce.

This is a quick and easy, but delicious meal. A sweet and tangy chicken. It can be done in the morning and placed in the oven when you get home from work. I definately recommend serving this with rice because the sauce is too good to pass up.

1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup ketchup
4 chicken legs-thighs (legs and thighs)

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together.
  • Cut hindquarters into seperate legs and thighs.
  • You should have 8 pieces of chicken now.
  • Place in baking dish and pour sauce over top to coat chicken.
  • This can be done ahead of time and refrigerated.
  • Bake at 350 for 3/4 hour with lid on, and 3/4 hour with lid off.
  • Serve chicken and sauce with hot cooked rice.

3 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
black pepper
1 cup honey
6 -7 garlic cloves, minced
2/3 cup soy sauce
3 tablespoons ketchup
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 bunch green onion, finely diced
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 cup water

Steps:

  • Season chicken liberally with black pepper and place in a crock pot.
  • Combine honey, garlic, soy sauce, ketchup and red pepper flakes in a medium-sized bowl and whisk until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated. Add green onions and stir (reserving some for garnish if desired).
  • Pour honey mixture over chicken pieces then cook, covered, on high for 3-4 hours (or low for 5-6 hours) or until chicken is cooked through and tender.
  • Remove chicken from crock pot then cover to keep moist. Increase temperature of crock pot to high (if not already on high) and replace lid.
  • Add cornstarch to a small bowl or cup then slowly add water; stir until smooth. Add cornstarch slurry to crock pot, cover and heat until sauce thickens (about 30 minutes).
  • Chop chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and add back to crock pot. Gently stir to coat chicken with sauce. Reduce heat to "warm" until ready to serve.
  • Serve chicken and sauce over white rice. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 large bone-in skin-on chicken thighs

Steps:

  • Mix together the honey, soy sauce, vinegar, thyme, pepper and garlic in a bowl. Reserve 1/4 cup of the marinade to use for basting later. Marinate the chicken with the remaining liquid in a resealable bag for 2 to 3 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Heat one side of a gas grill to medium heat, keeping one side cooler. Grill the chicken thighs on medium for approximately 5 minutes on each side, taking care not to let the sugars burn. Move the thighs to the cool side of the grill and baste with the reserved marinade. Cover the grill and cook, basting every 3 to 4 minutes, until the thighs are cooked completely through, about 10 minutes more.

2 1/2-3 lbs skinless chicken pieces
1/2 cup honey
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup ginger preserves
1/4 cup hoisin sauce
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
1/2 cup diced onion
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 tablespoons cold water
sliced scallion, for garnish
sesame seeds, for garnish

Steps:

  • Layer the chicken in the bottom of a 5 - 6 qt slow cooker.
  • In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, preserves, hoisin sauce, oil, garlic, ginger, onion and red pepper flakes. Pour over chicken. Cover slow cooker and cook on low 4-5 hours.
  • Using tongs or a slotted spoon or skimmer, remove chicken from sauce to a plate. Transfer sauce to a medium saucepan over medium-high heat and allow to reduce slightly.

1/3 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup liquid honey
2 tablespoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
2 -3 garlic cloves, minced

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350F
  • Put chicken legs, skin side up, on a foil covered baking sheet. In a bowl, stir together remaining ingredients. Pour half of this sauce into another bowl and set aside to use as a dipping sauce.
  • Brush some of the remaining mixture onto each chicken leg. Bake for 40 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into the drumsticks reads 170F (77C). Brush the chicken legs with sauce every 10 minutes during baking.
  • Warm the saved sauce in the microwave for 30-40 seconds on high. Serve as a dipping sauce for the chicken. Serve chicken legs with a salad and rice or potatoes.
  • TIP: 8 bone-in chicken thighs can be used instead of 4 chicken legs.

1 1/2 cups milk (skim works)
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons rice vinegar

2 green onions, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • Place chicken in greased 9" X 13" dish.
  • Combine milk, cornstarch, soy, honey, vinegar and garlic.
  • Pour over chicken, tossing to coat.

  • Addd green onions and sesame seeds.
