CHOCOLATE CHRISTMAS TREE BROWNIES

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder and kosher salt. Add the granulated sugar, melted butter, vanilla and eggs and whisk until a few lumps remain. Stir in the chocolate chunks.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with the turbinado sugar and flake salt. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs, about 25 minutes. Allow to cool completely in the pan.
- Cut the brownie in half. Using the tip of a knife, slice in angles making W's with the cut to form triangular pieces. Remove each piece and decorate with frosting and sprinkles as desired.

- Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Line 9-inch square pan with foil, allowing some to hang over edges of pan. Grease bottom and sides of foil with shortening or cooking spray. Make brownie mix batter as directed on box. Spread in pan.
- Bake 28 to 31 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely on cooling rack, about 1 1/2 hours. Freeze in pan 15 minutes. Using foil to lift, remove brownies from pan, and peel foil away. To cut brownie into triangles, cut into 3 rows. Cut each row into 5 triangles (See More About This Recipe). Set aside leftover pieces for snacking.
- Break off curved end of candy cane; insert straight piece into bottoms of triangles to make tree trunks.
- Stir food color into frosting. Spoon frosting into small resealable food-storage plastic bag; partially seal bag. Cut off tiny bottom corner of bag. Squeeze bag to pipe frosting over brownies. Sprinkle with decors.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 13-by-9-inch baking sheet. Line baking sheet with parchment paper, leaving a 1-inch overhang on the two long sides. Set aside. Place butter and chocolate in a large heatproof bowl set over (but not touching) simmering water; stir frequently until chocolate and butter are melted, about 7 minutes. Remove bowl from heat; let cool to room temperature, 10 to 15 minutes.
- Stir sugar into cooled chocolate mixture until combined. Whisk in eggs one at a time, whisking until smooth after each addition. Whisk in vanilla. Gently fold in flour and salt.
- Pour batter into prepared pan, and smooth top with an offset spatula; scatter green sprinkles over top. Bake until a cake tester inserted in the center comes out with only a few moist crumbs attached, 40 to 45 minutes. Transfer pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Run a knife or offset spatula around the edges of the pan. Using parchment paper, lift brownies out of pan and onto the rack. Transfer to a cutting board; cut into 2-inch squares. Brownies can be kept in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

- In a heavy saucepan, melt butter and chocolate over low heat. Cool for 10 minutes. In a bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt. Stir in the cooled chocolate mixture, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Fold in 1-1/4 cups cherries and the walnuts. , Transfer to a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Arrange remaining cherries over top. - Preheat oven to 350 degrees;.
- Prepare brownie mix according to package directions. Spoon batter into 13x9-inch baking pan, spreading evenly. Cover with 1 cup of M&M's.
- In another mixing bowl, thoroughly beat the cream cheese with the sugar. Slowly add the heavy cream, eggs and vanilla extract. Blend mixture until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl several times.
- Evenly spoon the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out almost clean.
- Remove and cool completely.
- Optional: Just before serving, top with a layer of whipped cream.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Grease a 13x9-inch baking pan; set aside.
- Cream Cheese Filling:.
- In a medium bowl, with an electric mixer set on medium, beat cream cheese until fluffy.
- Add sugar, maraschino cherry juice, and egg and beat until smooth.
- Stir in maraschino cherries; set aside.
- Brownie:.
- In a microwave safe bowl, combine butter and chocolate. Heat on medium-high setting until melted, stir until smooth; set aside to cool for 3 minutes.
- In a large bowl, beat chocolate mixture, sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs with an electric mixer until smooth.
- Gradually beat in flour and salt, scraping bowl continue to beat for 1 minute.
- Stir in chopped walnuts.
- Spread half of the batter into prepared pan.
- Spread cherry-cheese filling over batter.
- Carefully spread remaining batter over filling. Gently swirl with knife to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted in middle of brownie pan.
- Cool completely before cutting into squares. Store covered in refrigerator.
