Golden Onion Dip Food

GOLDEN ONION DIP

Steps:

• Chop the onions. Leave the cream cheese out to soften while preparing the onions.
• Melt the butter in a large nonstick skillet. Add the onions and cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until tender.
• Add chicken broth and bring to a boil. Cook over medium-high heat for 20-25 minutes, stirring often, until onion is golden. Remove from heat and let cool.
• Beat the cream cheese until creamy. Add mayo and beat until smooth. Stir in the onion mixture and the pistachios.
• Cover and chill until ready to serve, at least 2 hours. Serve with assorted fresh veggies or melba rounds.

FRENCH ONION DIP

Steps:

• In a large saute pan over low heat, add oil and butter. When butter is melted, add onions and saute stirring occasionally until golden brown and caramelized, about 35 minutes. Add shallots and some salt and saute for 15 minutes more until onions and shallots are dark brown. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 to 6 minutes, then chop into 1/4-inch pieces. Set aside to cool to room temperature.
• Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, celery salt, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Fold in onion mixture. Chill at least 1 hour or overnight, prior to serving.

ONION DIP FROM SCRATCH

Steps:

• In a saute pan over medium heat add oil, heat and add onions and salt. Cook the onions until they are caramelized, about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool. Mix the rest of the ingredients, and then add the cooled onions. Refrigerate and stir again before serving.

GOLDEN ONION SOUP

Steps:

• Heat oven to 400°F. In 13x9-inch pan, melt 1/4 cup butter in oven. Toss bread cubes in butter until evenly coated. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and crisp.
• Reduce oven temperature to 325°F. In 4-quart ovenproof Dutch oven, melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce. Toss onions in butter mixture.
• Bake uncovered about 2 hours 30 minutes, stirring every hour, until onions are deep golden brown. Remove from oven; stir in broth and water. Heat to boiling on top of stove. Serve with croutons.

ONION DIP PORK CHOPS

Steps:

• Cook pasta to directions on box.
• Brown Pork Chops on both sides in oil.
• Add garlic powder, onion soup, soup, sour cream.
• Add a little water if necessary if the sauce is too thick.
• Cook until pork chops cooked through.
• Place on top of pasta.
• I serve with steamed broccoli as well.

WARM MUSHROOM & BACON DIP

Steps:

• In 10" skillet, cook bacon and remove and crumble.
• Reserve 1 1/2 tablespoons drippings.
• Add mushrooms and garlic to reserved drippings and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until mushrooms are tender and liquid is almost evaporated.
• Add golden onion soup mix and pepper, then cream cheese and combine thoroughly.
• Simmer, stirring constantly, until cream cheese is melted.
• Stir in sour cream and bacon and heat through.
• Garnish, if desired, with parsley and additional mushrooms and bacon.
• Serve with bread or crackers.

LIPTON ONION DIP

Steps:

• In medium bowl, blend all ingredients, chill if desired.
• Serve with your favorite dippers!
• Stir in 1/2 c salsa for a twist!
