1 head savoy cabbage (about 1 1/2 lbs) or 1 head Chinese cabbage, cored, shredded across in approx 3/4-inch slices (about 1 1/2 lbs)
2 tablespoons lite olive oil or 2 tablespoons other oil
1 tablespoon minced garlic
salt & pepper
1 1/4 tablespoons ginger, minced
1 lime, juice of

Steps:

  • Heat wok or large skillet medium high heat, wait until oil is hot.
  • Add cabbage and stir fry until cabbage just starts to wilt (do nor overcook).
  • Add garlic, salt and pepper cook 1 minute.
  • Add ginger cook 1 minute.
  • Drizzle with lime juice and serve.

1 bunch scallions
2 garlic cloves, chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound Savoy cabbage, cored and thinly sliced (8 cups)
1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Chop scallions, reserving white and dark green parts separately.
  • Cook scallion whites and garlic in oil in a 12-inch heavy skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until garlic is pale golden, about 3 minutes. Stir in cabbage, 3/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper and sauté 1 minute. Add water and cook, tightly covered, until cabbage is wilted, about 3 minutes. Add scallion greens and cook, uncovered, stirring, until most of water has evaporated and cabbage is tender, about 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

1/2 large cabbage
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 cm ginger, peeled and cut inti fine matchsticks
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 red chile, deseeded and finely sliced
1 1/2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

Steps:

  • Remove out leaves of cabbage. Cut in half and take out inner core. Slice quarters into 1 cm shreds.
  • Place wok on high heat. Add oil, swirl around.
  • Add ginger, garlic and chilli quickly stirring for few seconds.
  • Add cabbage. Stir-fry briskly for 3-4 minutes.
  • Add soy suace and balsamic and stir-fry few seconds longer.
  • Serve immediately.

1 head savoy cabbage, cored and cut into 1-inch squares (about 1 1/2 pounds)
4 teaspoons canola oil
2 tablespoons shao hsing rice wine or 2 tablespoons dry sherry
4 teaspoons black bean garlic sauce
1 bunch scallion, minced
2 teaspoons distilled white vinegar
2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
5 dashes hot sauce (to taste)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 500°F
  • Toss cabbage and canola oil in a large roasting pan and spread out in an even layer.
  • Roast until beginning to wilt and brown, about 15 minutes.
  • Combine rice wine (or sherry) and black bean sauce in a small bowl; drizzle over the cabbage and toss.
  • Continue roasting until tender, about 5 minutes more.
  • Toss with scallions, vinegar, sesame oil and hot sauce until combined.
