FRESH MINT CANTALOUPE COOLER
This is my favorite new way to enjoy summer cantaloupe. And it's a great way to cool off in summer! Growing mint is rather easy too. We have some in a large pot, and it comes back each year in full force with almost no effort on our part.

- 1. Mix all ingredients in blender and enjoy!
- 2. If your cantaloupe isn't perfectly ripe, you can always sweeten with a little honey or sugar.

A delightful drink, perfect for hot days. A traditional Persian drink tweaked to make it easier. The lemon juice is not traditional, but is very good. Adapted from Fig and Quince, Modern Persian Cooking.

- Blend cantaloupe with several cubes of ice in a blender.
- Add a dash of rosewater. Rosewater is a delightful ingredient true to its name but it is also a dominating one so use sparingly. Jazz up the flavor by adding 1 tablespoon or more of fresh lemon juice. Mix with a wooden spoon. Sweeten to taste with honey or lemon, sparingly, so as to allow the natural flavor of the cantaloupe to shine through.
- Pour into a glass and garnish with fresh mint or very thinly sliced wedge of lemon. Drink up!
- Drink it quickly before the ice melts and dilutes the drink.

- Add cantaloupe chunks, maple syrup and lime juice to a food processor or high speed blender. Blend until completely smooth. Next add mint leaves and pulse to blend (leave mint leaves as chunky as you’d like). Taste your mixture and adjust sweetness to taste.
- When ready to serve, start to scrape into the mixture using a fork to create a nice fluffy ice. Enjoy immediately!

- Cut the melons in half; remove the seeds and using a melon ball scooper cut into various bite size balls and mix in a large mixing bowl.

- Cut the watermelon in half and using a melon baller, scoop balls out of one half of the watermelon. Scoop more melon balls out of the cantaloupe and honeydew. Place all the melon balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 2 hours.
- Scoop out the remaining flesh from the watermelon, remove any seeds and transfer it to a blender. If you’d like to make garnishes out of the watermelon rind, cut the rind of the watermelon in half and scrape out any white flesh of the melon. Use a cookie cutter to cut shapes out of the rind and set aside.
- Cut the remaining half of the watermelon into chunks and remove any seeds. Purée the watermelon in a blender or food processor. If necessary, strain the puréed watermelon through a mesh strainer to remove any excess pulp.
- Place the watermelon juice in a pitcher. Pour in the vodka, lime juice and agave nectar, and stir to combine. Chill until you are ready to serve.
