Double Chocolate Chip Cookies With Chocolate Chunks image

1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup natural cocoa powder (not Dutch-process)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chocolate chunks

Steps:

  • Beat the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar in a bowl with a mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla; beat.
  • Whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Add to the butter mixture and beat until just combined. Stir in the chocolate chunks.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and roll into balls. Arrange on parchment-lined baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Refrigerate 30 minutes, then bake until the cookies are golden on the bottom, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool on the baking sheets, 10 minutes, then transfer to racks to finish cooling.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Stir cookie mix, oil, water and eggs with spoon until soft dough forms. (If dough is too stiff, stir in additional 1 to 2 teaspoons water.)
  • Spread dough in ungreased rectangular pan, 13x9x2 inches.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes or just until set; cool. For 36 bars, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows.

3/4 cup butter, melted
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 package (10 ounces) miniature semisweet chocolate chips, divided

Steps:

  • Combine cookie crumbs and butter; pat onto the bottom of an ungreased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. , In a microwave, heat milk and 1 cup chocolate chips; stir until smooth. Pour over crust. Sprinkle with remaining chips., Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until chips begin to melt but do not lose their shape. Cool on a wire rack.

Butter and egg called for on sugar cookie mix pouch for drop cookies
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons white candy sprinkles
1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Double Chocolate Chunk Cookie Mix
Butter, water and egg called for on double chocolate chunk cookie mix pouch
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • Make sugar cookie dough as directed on pouch for drop cookies. Stir in 1/4 cup of the candy sprinkles. Press dough evenly in bottom of pan.
  • Make double chocolate chunk cookie dough as directed on pouch. Drop dough by spoonfuls over sugar cookie dough. Using metal spatula, evenly spread dough to cover sugar cookie dough layer. Sprinkle remaining 2 tablespoons candy sprinkles over top.
  • Bake 30 to 34 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean and edges are set. Cool completely on cooling rack, about 2 hours.
  • In small microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips uncovered on High 30 to 60 seconds, stirring halfway through, until chips can be stirred smooth. Spoon into resealable food-storage plastic bag; partially seal bag. Cut small tip from corner of bag. Squeeze bag to pipe over top of bar.
  • Let stand about 2 hours or until chocolate is set. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store loosely covered in single layer at room temperature.

2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
1 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1/3 cup milk
3 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • In large bowl, stir cookie base ingredients until soft dough forms. Press dough in bottom of pan. Set aside.
  • In large bowl, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, 1/4 cup butter, the flour, 1 teaspoon vanilla and the egg with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Stir in 1/4 cup pecans. Spread over cookie dough base. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  • Bake 26 to 28 minutes or until filling is set. Sprinkle evenly with marshmallows. Bake 2 minutes longer.
  • In 2-quart saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter over medium heat. Stir in cocoa and milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. With wire whisk, gradually stir in powdered sugar until well blended. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 cup pecans. Immediately pour over marshmallows, spreading gently to cover. Cool 30 minutes.
  • Refrigerate about 2 hours or until chilled. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 4 rows. Store covered in refrigerator.

1 pouch (7.5 oz; snack size) Betty Crocker™ peanut butter cookie mix
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon water
1/4 cup dark chocolate chunks, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Line 8-inch square pan with cooking parchment paper or spray with cooking spray.
  • With stand mixer or hand-held mixer, beat double chocolate chunk cookie mix, 1/4 cup oil, 2 tablespoons water and the egg until a soft dough forms. Spread half of dough in bottom of pan.
  • With stand mixer or hand-held mixer, beat peanut butter cookie mix, 2 tablespoons oil and 1 tablespoon water until a crumbly dough forms. Spoon tablespoons of dough over chocolate cookie dough. Spoon remaining chocolate cookie dough in between mounds of peanut butter cookie dough. Use spatula to flatten dough. Sprinkle chocolate chunks evenly over top.
  • Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until edges are brown and center is set. Cool completely, about 45 minutes.
  • For bars, cut into 4 rows by 4 rows.

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a 13- x 9-inch metal baking pan with parchment paper, leaving 2 inches of overhang on all sides. Lightly coat parchment paper with cooking spray. Sift together flour, cocoa, and salt in a small bowl; set aside.
  • Melt 1 cup chocolate wafers over a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring often, until smooth. Combine granulated sugar, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla in bowl of a stand mixer. Beat on medium-high speed until frothy and light caramel in color, about 1 minute.
  • With mixer running on low speed, slowly pour melted chocolate into egg mixture. Fold in flour mixture until incorporated. Transfer batter to prepared pan, and smooth top. Roughly chop remaining 1/3 cup chocolate wafers, and sprinkle over top of batter. Bake in preheated oven until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 18 to 20 minutes. Cool brownies in pan on a wire rack at least 2 hours. Using parchment, remove brownies from pan. Cut into 20 rectangles.
