EASY HEALTHY NO RISE PIZZA CRUST

Easy Healthy No Rise Pizza Crust image

This isn't spectacular, but it's the best I've come up with for a no rise crust without sugar or white flour that I like and my toddler will eat. This makes one regular size crust (12-14 inch diameter) and lasts my 2 year old and I for 2 meals. When hubby comes home from Iraq... I'll probably need to make a second just for him :-) Comments welcome, I'm open for changes!

Time 30m

Yield 1 crust, 2-3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons wheat gluten (optional, it helps it rise more like white flour but I usually do without) (optional)

Steps:

  • Dissolve the yeast in the water in a large bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients in and mix.
  • Dump onto a well floured surface. Knead into a smooth dough (takes me about 3-5 minutes tops).
  • Roll out and press down onto a greased pizza pan (I like to sprinkle a little corn meal on the pan before pressing down the dough).
  • Add toppings as desired and bake at 450 for around 12-15 minutes. If you have a stone, I bake it on the bottom rack so it evenly cooks the crust without the cheese getting too crunchy.
  • You can also add some wheat germ or ground flax seed for added healthiness.

SUPER FAST AND EASY PIZZA DOUGH/ CRUST

Super Fast and Easy Pizza Dough/ Crust image

A recipe from Fleischmann's. Always good. You can substitute 1 cup of whole wheat flour for one cup of the white flour. You can add in some parmesan cheese if you'd like. Or, you can replace 1/2 cup of cornmeal for 1/2 cup of the flour. Have fun experimenting.

QUICK AND EASY PIZZA CRUST

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust image

This is a great recipe when you don't want to wait for the dough to rise. You just mix it and allow it to rest for 5 minutes and then it's ready to go!! It yields a soft, chewy crust. For a real treat, I recommend you use bread flour and bake it on a pizza stone, but all-purpose flour works well too. Enjoy!

EASY AS PIE 10-MINUTE NO-RISE THIN-CRUST PIZZA DOUGH

Easy As Pie 10-Minute No-Rise Thin-Crust Pizza Dough image

This came from one of the volumes in my e-cookbook collection-- it's meant to yield one 12" pizza but I get about two 8" or 9" individual pizzas with it. You can bake the raw dough with sauce and cheese on it but I prefer to bake ahead and freeze the crusts so I can just thaw it out then put sauce and toppings on. According to the instructions, you can use regular all-purpose flour if you don't have bread flour. (1 3/4 cups AP flour + 5 1/4 teaspoons vital wheat gluten = 1 3/4 cups bread flour)

Provided by the80srule

Categories     Low Cholesterol

Time 20m

Yield 2 9" crusts, 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 6

3/4 cup warm water
1/4 teaspoon honey (or sugar)
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 3/4 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Proof the yeast in the warm water with the honey or sugar for 8-10 minutes or until foamy.
  • Add the remaining ingredients together and knead well, about 2-5 minutes.
  • If the dough seems a little sticky, dust your hands with some flour and knead again.
  • Grease a pizza pan or pie pan with cooking spray, and place the dough into it-- entire thing if a 12" pie, or half for an 8" or 9" pan.
  • I prefer to bake these crusts ahead of time-- but if you want to eat it now, you can put the sauce, cheese, toppings, etc. on it and use the same baking instructions.
  • Bake at 500F for 8-12 minutes or until the edges are nice and brown.
