DIY WHITENING STRIPS
I usually whiten my teeth every 6 months. Can get pretty expensive. So I came up with my own for pennies!

Steps:
- After cutting your coffee filters into strips. I cute around the folded edges to make a perfect size. Mix a peroxide baking soda to a glaze consistency. Dry teeth with dry washcloth. paint with lipstick brush on top teeth and place coffee filter strip over and press to fit front and fold to back. Repeat with bottom teeth. Relax and let whiten for 20min. remove and follow brushing with whitening toothbrush. Do this for one week, 3x a year.

- Whitening with fruit. Papain and bromelain, which are enzymes that occur in papayas and pineapples respectively, may both help to whiten teeth. A 2020 study found that tooth bleaching gels containing bromelain or papain have substantial clinical potential to whiten teeth.

- Hydrogen peroxide. This was a staple in my teeth whitening regimen the summer before my wedding. I would swish 1 part peroxide with 1 part water in my mouth for 1 minute.
- Charcoal. Although it sounds backwards, brushing your teeth with this black powder works wonders! Its especially good for removing stains caused by the tannins in tea, coffee and wine.
- Turmeric. Yes, the same bright orange powder that stains everything it touches actually whitens your teeth. I haven’t found brushing with it to be as effective as charcoal.
- Baking Soda. Many people automatically think of baking soda when they think of teeth whitening. This classic staple will shine your pearly whites, but be careful.
